Mine has to go to God of War, except for a few niggles this is my almost perfect game in terms of gameplay, music and narrative. This and also Spider-Man were the only games this year that kept me glued to the TV and also 100%.
Mine would be Dreams beta release announcement which has bought back find memories with one of MM's past games
LBP has been a special game in my heart, spent so many hours on this with a best friend creating alot of stuff. He is no longer with me now but the creations we made still exist to this today. Having seen MM creating a lbp level a while back literally almost destroyed me =(
Now with Dreams, a much more powerful creation tool. I look forward t...
Mine has to the closure of TellTale games including the many dev layoffs that followed
I am going to go with Sony Santa Monica.
They went from
- releasing GoW Ascension which performed poorly;
- assisting in poorly received games under the external development arm (i.e. The Order 1886)
- to a canceled internal IP losing a large number of staff and millions;
- to finally releasing a game of the year contender Good of War in 2018.
If this was any other publisher, I think SSM would have been clos...
There is so much to choose from this gen, but I have to go with Bethesda. They dropped the ball with the buggiest games this gen, Todd Howard with his BS (complaining about Sony not doing crossplay then when Sony back pedals, they said it can't be done yet), and finally the drama with FO76 with the game and also the canvas bag.
Mine has to be Troy Baker as well.
From voicing the Joker to Jolle in the Last of Us, an easy pick
Xenoblade chronicles 2 ........ everyone =/
Gonna go with Sony Bend, a lot of people on another form say that Days Gone is going to fail/flop because they haven't released a fully fledged console game for a long time following the PS2. You guys need to play most of the handheld games they made which were all very good.
Todd Howard
Recent games plagued with bugs and FO76 also speaks for itself. Also that crossplay comment .....
Have to go with Yoji Shinkawa. Loved all the art for the msg franchise which is my most favourite franchise
Have to go with the pokemon designs for the latest gens
Have to go with VR
Having getting a PSVR during Black Friday and catching up to some of the popular games highlighted the potential in the platform. Really something you have to experience yourself as very difficult to explain (watching movies in VR is also great).
I imagine due to it being quite new and lower install base than consoles & PC, not much full fledged games are made for it due to the risk. As the platform matures, I imagine we see more A...
Mine would be Roleplaying as well
For the narrative plus the possibility of side stories mixed in to it as well. Plus also the freedom & choices such as
- option to do something else like sub stories or activities in the meantime like a break from the main story
- choices of weapons, armor, accessories, etc
- character development & building or party choices to suit your play style
- variety of enemies leading to differe...
my vote also goes to the loot boxes and microtransactions that are predatory in nature
i have to go with cross-play. Previous generation we always saw players locked to a particular platform for multiplayer. But now (on certain games) with the abundance of good online infrastructure and technology besides playing with players on same platform we also have the ability to cross play with other gamers. Adding to the fact with increase social media presence and streaming as well (twitch and YT)
Mine would be FF7
Childhood favourite and also my very first JRPG in my teens. Still recall my very first time with the Guard Scorpion while I spent hours against this boss because I couldn't read and kept attacking when the tail was up xD
Loved the atmosphere, characters, story and also the summons! Still recall the first time I watched a summon which blew me away entirely. The end game optional weapon bosses was also very challenging and kept me glu...
This was the very first game I ever played on my very first gaming platform when I was very young
Incidentally this was the Game Boy and the game that came with it, Tetris. Wasted so many hours getting continuous beating my high score. Then this prompted me into begging my parents to get me a SNES
I hope they don't dick around with the collectors edition this time around because of Microsoft marketing rights.
The Witcher 3 CE was bullshit due to missing 2 decks of Gwent cards and a cloth map. This screwed over the PC and PS4 fans who went for the CE. Tried tracking the missing items on eBay and you could imagine the scalpers. As you can imagine this pissed off alot of fans (including me) plus to add to the salt, the price was also similar between the editions (PC...
The background music choice is so annoying.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Almost every mechanic in that game is a grind
