Sure they released DLC and patches, but those DLC modes were pretty empty after a few weeks passed by, and it's impossible to find a match on them now. If those modes/maps were in the game at launch, along with many of the changes made after the 2.0 update, I think it would've received much better reviews and would've stayed at its peak much longer.
I agree that the COD crowd scared a lot of people away, especially on Raven and Valor (not so much SVER). I wish I c...
I love MAG, but something was seriously wrong over at Zipper. SOCOM 4 was a mess and they didn't support MAG very well in my opinion. It always sucks when people lose their job, but I don't think it surprised anyone when they got shuttered.
The more they let these rumours fester, or dodge the matter entirely (like they did when their now ex-employee went on that always-on Twitter rant) it makes them look worse. If it wasn't true, they should just come out and say it's not true.
R2 was complete trash, but despite it's COD-clone multiplayer I thought Resistance 3 was the best in the series. It hit more of the horror-ish vibes I wanted out of the series, and had some amazing art design. It was just fun to play.
I'm throwing my money at the screen. IT'S NOT WORKING DAMMIT.
I can live with Rihanna. She was the least terrible part of the Kanye West concert I thought it'd be a good idea to go to... I was 12 at the time, don't judge me. :'(
A lot of those games came out under Riccitiello's watch, but EA's stock prices took a major hit. Blame that as the reason for the return to the old, "evil" EA.
The "controversy" surrounding Dead Space 3 was really just a minor (and virtually useless) addition that everyone freaked out on. Anyone who played the game for more than 5 minutes knows the micro transactions have zero effect on the game.
Nope, EA said that was false within hours of the original story. No company is going to come out and say something is 100% false as adamantly as they did unless they mean it.
EA already said that was a load of crap. Not just that, the game sold over 600k copies in it's first month. Those are not bad sales, especially since sales in the gaming industry are down across the board.
There's no forced AI partner. If you play it solo, you're alone, Carver barely appears.
Tomb Raider was a huge surprise for me as well, after all the delays I didn't think it would be that great, but I picked it up and absolutely love it!
Call of Duty and God of War need shake ups, sure. Hell, I wouldn't really care if COD did die. But the Tomb Raider reboot was a fantastic game. This was pretty much troll bait and trying to get views.
Since I can't reply to your reply: First Assault isn't Battlefront though, it's meant to gauge if there is still interest in this kind of game. If there were a full Battlefront game, I'm sure they'd add the option. LucasArts generally isn't one to screw fans over like that.
Battlefront was pretty much Battlefield but in third person and with a Star Wars coat of paint. Calm down, you've seen less than 30 seconds of footage, we don't even know if this game is coming out. That said, all these "leaks" make me think we'll have an official announcement soon.
Battlefront ALWAYS had a first person mode...
I think the point of the article isn't that he used Tomb Raider as an escape when he was being abused, more so that it's motivated him to get his life on track. Games do offer that escape for people dealing with shit who feel they have no other options, I know they helped me when I was bullied through elementary and middle school.
It's not a silver bullet, but it's definitely something that helps so don't discount it because of that.
Disney is no better. The catastrophe they created with TRON: Evolution and Propaganda Games is enough to show that, they just don't understand how to appeal to core gamers.
Nope, apparently it's only when it's EA. Comment sections across the web either don't care or are quite calm compared to the Dead Space 3 stuff. Double standards are stupid.
So the glorified tech demo sold poorly, what a shocker. And EA alienated a large chunk of Dead Space's fanbase. The game shouldn't have gone past the original, they never turned a profit. As much as I'm glad to have gotten more games, they slowly took creative control away from the team to try and make it into something that would sell.
