That deal is trade in 2 games, and get a new one for $20 or $40 off.
Not free.
"I would rather have the game supported for years on end than get a sequel within a year"

Just saying...
No one has issues playing as Nazis... How many people did the Nazis kill?
How many people have the Taliban killed? (A clue... it's NOWHERE near the Nazis...)
A GAME... GAME GAME GAME.
Game =/= Real life
Wish people would just shut up and stop trying to get their journalistic "15 minutes" when every buzz topic shows up...
Thanks NoSuchSol.
Because digital distribution is cheaper than shipping units all over the country...
Well... it WAS cheaper until all the sales lost from this incident...
If this is in reply to my above comment - I understand what the article says, and I understand the argument. My rant was not about this specific article, but rather for the people who ARE complaining about shooters being too realistic looking.
I guess I should have gone to the forums on this site, but this seemed an appropriate article to rant about it.
I don't agree with the "fired on first" logic if they truly thought it was an RPG. How about visual CONFIRMATION of a weapon at least?
I didn't see the video, and I don't want to watch the video. Were these people civilians or insurgents/Taliban?
I said "my bad" on the VIP in new copies. I owned it.
This isn't "reason and logic" enough for you?
"Buying a USED game should get you the EXACT SAME GAME as buying new... End of story."
BFBC:2 (as well as any game...) should be the SAME game whether it's bought new or used. Logical right?
Limited edition was free with pre-order/launch...
The VIP comes with all new copies.
As far as you telling us to "stop complaining", I'm going to tell YOU to stop complaining about our complaining. Pot, meet Kettle...
Buying a USED game should get you the EXACT SAME GAME as buying new... End of story.
I'm so sick and tired of gaming websites complaining about how realistic games are becoming.
If this were a racing game, and the cars looked fake, everyone would be pissing themselves and creating boycotts etc.
This is a war game. Why does the setting make any difference to people? I want my games to be realistic. Maybe I (and many others...) have the innate ability to actually realize that what we are playing is nothing more than 0's, 1's, ...
If you bought the game used or new after launch, you DO have to pay to get these new modes. There is a $10 charge to obtain "VIP" status. So, in essence, after launch you have to pay $10 extra to get the new modes.
That is totally something to "b*tch and moan" about.
Nice edit. I'll reset the situation...
You claimed that he bought the game from Amazon, and then RETURNED it to gamestop. That is not what he did. He TRADED the game in. They are two fundamentally different transactions. A return is an exchange for what you paid for the item, as long as it is in the same condition as when you purchased the game. This required a receipt from the store/chain that you bought the game from

It took you YEARS to beat levels? Have you finished the first world yet?
Lol. Is that a typo, or did you mean years as in hours or days? Just curious. I LOVE SM3, both on my NES and the Wii VC.
... it was a trade in special during their trade in week at the beginning of April. Please learn how to read, he said that in his post.
billions?
They're ALL Gold memberships slick.
Critical Thinking, smartass.
Gold - play online, pay.
Silver - don't play online, free.
Almost everyone has a Gold account.
If you don't want to auto-subscribe for renewal, that's why MS made XBL Gold cards with the codes.
Not saying I don't sympathize with you, but your options are/were there.
And if you called MS Customer Service, and they didn't offer to swap out the second year for like a month or two of the "monthly" price, you didn't try hard enough.
thanks for the replies.
I don't visit kotaku, so I guess good thing for me.
You get booze and dancing boobs (legally) at 19... I'd say we're even.
