From my experience w/ the french version of the game this review is actually pretty spot on. Personally, I wasn't very impressed myself. I stopped playing about 3/4 of the way through, I was disapointed to say the least. Doesn't really have that 'wow' factor to it, its just the same old Halo.
That game blows, its like a hand me down version of Halo. I'd take a new socom any day over it.
That's the idea of making a sequel
I don't have a hard time believing the source is legit, this game has been leaked for like two weeks now, a lot of people have started playing it.
I think it is just hard for people to believe that there are those out there that can see through Halo's guilded hype. It is a valid point thought, if this is supposed to be the 360's centerpiece, as MS calls it, then why the lack of innovation or progression? Are they just afraid to change anything and turn people off?
Maybe if they didn't oversaturate the market people wouldn't be getting burnt out! Way to go activision, now lets start working on CoD.
You know, the way this guy describes Halo ODST is pretty much the way I feel about the whole series.
Its the same way w/ L4D2. Valve doesn't have any other games releasing this year, so of course they are going to try and charge full retail price. Even if 1/4 of the people buy the sequel, they still made more money than if it was just an expansion. I think the fact that the biased media has been so quick to jump to their defense is a sign of weakness.
MS calls Ha...
But I thought the game sucked. It was just way too damn easy. I beat every song on expert the first time through, the lowest score I got was like an 85%.
It really seems like after playing GH5 and this game, both those series are getting dumbed down. I played through over 1/2 of GH5 and that felt like the easiest one so far. Plus the song selections in GH5 are terrible, I never even got to play a metal song out of the 20 ones I unlocked in my gaming session.
I'd rather have it be something else than resistance. It seems like Insomniac has done all they can do w/ that title. Make a sly cooper or something.
Plus, aren't we still waiting Jaffe's announcement he said would come sometime this year?
Halo ODST does come out later this month, and what better way to pimp the beta access than finally shed some light on Halo Reach? If they are trying to use the beta as a selling point for ODST they should at least give us a glimpse of what we're buying.
I've already played it and its decent, but w/o a new online it really doesn't feel like a standalone game. The campaign is decent but nothing groundbreaking. My goty contenders:
Uncharted2
Assassin's Creed 2
Brutal Legend
CoD6
Batman Arkum Asylum
Murumasa the demon's blade
Dragon Age Origins
I really don't see ODST beating out any of these games, it is nowhere near their quality of fun.
They did awards for E3, and they gave Alan Wake 'Best Action Platformer' over Uncharted 2 and GoW3. Funny thing is, Alan Wake's emphasis isn't even on Action, in the interview w/ the devs they have posted on their site they go on to say Alan Wake is supposed to be the Anti-Action hero(he does fight w/ a flashlight after all)
When this game was first announced they said it wasn't going to be a full price. That didn't last very long, and now they're charging 60$ - if you've already downloaded all of the maps you really aren't getting your money's worth
I think you should be able to buy the campaign mode on the side for a cheaper price, it doesn't make sense to bundle it with a bunch of old DLC
Personally, I love motorsports enough to where there is enough room in my gaming collection for more than 1 racing sim - GT does a lot of things right, but there is still more for them to do before they can consider the game perfect(the car physics in Forza are pretty damn realistic, I don't know any other racing game that depicts tire grip as realistically as they do, and the damage in GT5 looks a little weak at this point)
I still think the rally racing and track design is s...
Its wierd that we haven't heard a lot about this game since it is a console exclusive after all. I think it would actually be cool if Halo adapted some of the things in this game - namely the jet packs(what is up with the jumping in halo anyways?), the dropping into the map(ODST does stand for Orbital Dropship Tropper after all) and the boost(Halo desperatly needs a run button IMO)
I'm sorry, I'm a PS3 fanboy first and foremost but I still gotta say the fanboyism on this site has gotten out of control - do you people have any lives or do you just wait for the next 360 article to be posted so you can troll it?
I never thought I would find myself defending microsoft, but a lot of the people on this site are beginning to make me rethink my stance. Are you guys that insecure that you have to dis everything MS does just to justify your console of choice? You j...
Its a good game, but I think its only great for those people who are fans of batman/comics in general. I found it a little repetitive, personally, I'm holding out for NG2sigma instead, I really want to check out the co-op, and NG is more 'hardcore' shall we say...
To me, crackdown felt like a hand me down version of streets of la, I didn't really think of it as a superhero game. And what kind of superhero uses a car!?
Actaully, Rockstar offered GTA4 as an exclusive, but Sony worked out a deal for them to dev a new IP as an exclusive instead, Im 99% sure it wont go MP, PS3 exclusive rarely do, especially ones like this, that are tailored towards the PS3's design.
But that was still funny
Every review I've read about this game has given it an enthusiastic thumbs up. In fact, I haven't read a negative review of it so far. It makes me wonder, will the games high learning curve keep it from getting GOTY or even RPG-GOTY awards consideration?
I think there should be more buzz for this game than there is. One thing is for sure, new playstation owners/PS Slim customers are going to be pleasantly surprised when they discover this game - its got SLEEPER HIT written all...
