Metacritic is just a compilation of some of the bigger sites out there. I don't see why it's so derided.
Meta arbitrarily chooses which site, so you might have some beef there.
And he's not talking about the user review scores on metacritic.

Gamespot never has reviews up before a game releases or even on the day a game releases.

Sony gave us the hard drive. Now, do we know if installs are mandatory? no. Uncharted was done without an install. That means developers are taking shortcuts.

vitz3, that isn't exactly what upscaling does. It's a little more complicated than that (algorithms and logarithms and other rhythms) but in no way is an upscaled DVD close to matching the quality of bluray on a nice screen at a nice size.
If you're really picky, really really picky, some upscaling dvd/hd dvd players do have excellent upscalers that will outperform a TV's scaler. I know upscaled dvds look ok ... until you see blu-ray.
etownone, this is true but not exclusive, there are some games that run a teensy weensy bit better on the PS3. But if the difference is close, I go PS3 personally. Why? My PS3 is silent, the 360 is not. No other reason. Ambient noise is not good when trying to immerse yourself in the game.
Unless the game is total crap on the PS3, then of course I get the 360 version. Fable II, Gears 2 definitely on my must have lists (and maybe Fallout 3 from what I've been hearing).

I won't say the fan is silent. It's not on mine, and I have a newer Elite. but it's quiet enough. That's for sure.
Good. Jesus. I was playing Far Cry 2 last night and it's so freaking loud. I have a habit of getting multiplats for the PS3 just for that one reason.

Just go to MS earnings release add the last two quarters to the 1(M figure. If I wasn't busy at work right now I'd do it.
My machines are high end. It's not about speed. Some things are done nicely, some just suck. It is what it is, and two of my laptops cannot be converted back to XP without some bootleg drivers, so I'm stuck for the most part on them, but I'd rather downgrade.
All my machines now have vista save for two. I am thinking of converting some back to XP though (starting up a company). Vista just doesn't do it for me. it's not even about speed, my machines are all pretty damn fast.
To me, Vista = Windows ME.
I have a 20GB PS3 and still haven't had to change out my HDD yet.
Not every xbox can have this xbox experience!
