I never got a chance to play Conker, mostly because I'd never heard of it before. I don't think it had anything to do with strict parenting. I played a lot of violent games as a kid, i.e. Mortal Kombat, which I wouldn't consider to be so mature nowadays. I would say that Conker is probably in line with what kids see in cartoons nowadays. Of course, back when it came out I am sure it was a big deal.
Most of these sound like great games. I love indie games! I'm definitely going to give The Stanley Parable a try.
While both games focus on treasure hunting elements, I think that they are pretty different gameplay wise. The biggest difference being how Tomb Raider tends to be more open, whereas Uncharted is linear and focuses on story. Both games are great really.
I actually like the idea of losing everything when you prestige. It gave me a reason to keep playing the game and actually made me a better player. For me, that was the replay value of COD. Though it is a bit overdone. I hope the new systems they implement actually do add some freshness to the series, but it may be too little too late.
I've played a lot of FPS lately. By the time Borderlands came out, I wasn't necessarily willing to add another one too my library. Not to mention, there are so many FPS out there that they became exhausting. Yet, everyone talks about how awesome Borderlands is. Maybe I should give it a try.
I think I would actually prefer this on PC. Though I am glad they are making it available for everyone.
