The casual market ESPECIALLY for hand held gaming is the driving force for sales.
Sony NEEDS the causal consumer to buy these units from day one BECAUSE the units are being sold for a loss. They will need ALL sales and ESPECIALLY casual consumer sales as they make up the largest market for hand held system sales. ...
The real test is months down the road. Will the device still be selling in large numbers after the gaming Enthusiasts and hardcore games have bought it first.
Will the casual and average consumer buy the Vita in large numbers at the price it is at.

AMD/ATI has been known in the past to bring in high end GPU's for "low prices" ( at least in comparison to what high end GPU's normally launch for)
Prime Example was the 4xxx series of GPU's from AMD/ATI.
They launched well below the price of Nvidia cards and what a typical high end GPU would launch for.
I would not be surprised if AMD launched this for the same price as the 6990 and then dropped the price of the 6990 and the 697...
Actually Gears 3 graphics look pretty good in comparison to Uncharted 3.
Obviously you never played Gears 3.

Just because PC developers did not use the PC to make games look better than the PS3 when it came out, does not negate the effect that when the PS3 launched the PC was still more powerful.
And in any case you are incorrect with that statement as games like Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter on the PC looked better than anything on the Xbox360 and PS3 until 2007. Then you had Prey. Lets not forget Elder Scrolls for the PC also in 2006 that looked better than any PS3 game until 2...
So Uncharted 3 scores 92% overall and Uncharted 2 scores 96% overall and the media hates Uncharted?

Actually MS owns abut 14 game studios. Sony about 16 give or take.
It's the misconception on this site especially.
Almost EVERYONE on N4G thinks MS only owns 1-2 game studios and Sony owns like 100.
The difference is Sony gives more freedom to those developers in making games that are more core oriented.
MS is focusing on Kinect games with the majority of their studios.

I would not exactly state OpenGL is superior to DirectX.
Maybe YEARS ago. Not now.
But MS put the screws and bolts to PC gamers with this game.
The game engine in what it was intended to do was too much for any console in its ORIGINAL PC FORM.
Trying to run all real time lighting and effects, Real Time GI etc kills resolution and is a resource killer that these consoles have issues with. The reason this game ran subHD.
Now this is the reason to buy MOVE.
This will be the defining game for MOVE as it looks stellar.

We have seen it and it's just a pre rendered trailer USING ITS GAME ENGINE...
Until "Last of us" runs an almost full destructible environment using all real time lighting and effects all in real time and not pre baked/pre calculated like uncharted 3 in most cases and has 64 player capability using various vehicles in very large environments and is NOT LINEAR unlike what the FROST BITE 2.0 ENGINE ON THE P.C OFFERS FOR BF3...YOUR TROLLI...
