... the thing is to is that consumers don't make it any better. More than enough times, I've seen, readers will just take the title of an article and run with it. "Man, jumps to the moon, declares Gaming Irrelevant!" for example. Imagine the uproar.
Writers will give their articles flamboyant titles to garner attention but the contents of the article itself tend to read otherwise. Writers bold enough, like the CVG one, will sometimes flat out put words in...
... this is a great word. Yet, I feel like this article, and Sony, are stating an obvious. It's an update for the game if you have it, I guess the developers could charge for it but if they want people to like 3D, they would have to give them the experience for free first I guess. Don't think my flat screen can handle 3D anyways so yea ... and I'm not upgrading, I just got that thing.
but yea ...standard stuff like
- length of the game
- how much will it cost for service, or service plans (if any, free,monthly yearly if they go that route)
- summons, combat, characters, guilds, guild wars??
- details on magic system etc
- will I need to make a square account (I hope note, I hated MGS Online approach to MP and it could make/break my purchase decision).

You have to forgive some N4G users, they tend to read the titles only and blast off ... it is the way here. Yet you have a point ... as the guy who wrote this article said the following -

... but I think what the writer of the article is saying is that the "sugar" used to "sweeten" the deal isn't top grade.
In other words, like he said - I don't think we hate the trophies/achievements per say; it's just "how" and "why" it's implemented.
It's nice that trophies/achievements are there. Of course you can go through the game Devil May Care to get some, then start hunting.

always bothered me about the achievement/trophy systems ... developers could design it to promote play rather than just have us beating a game over and over and over and over and over again just to meet specific requirements (*cough Lost Planet 2).
