Absolutely. I had the silver one, and it's in my opinion, the most beautiful looking console ever made.
Seriously...

I've owned many consoles, and the majority of them never did much for me in the aesthetics department, except for a few...
1. Playstation 2 Slim. I had the silver version, which was beautiful. Just beautiful. Hands down the prettiest console I've ever seen.
2. Xbox 360 Slim (original black), looked cool and badass as hell, with tons of personality. Also, the tactile feeling of slightly touching its power button to turn it on was superb. Sensorial ...
You don't need to own a Switch to know that its online implementation is horrible, that it doesn't have cloud saves, that everything you purchase is tied to your account, which is tied to the machine. You don't need to own it to know that for some unfathomable reason, friend codes are back (despite the fact that Wii U didn't have them)...
That data is easily reachable using simple Google searches. All of these are glaring flaws, stupid shit that this console...
If by Blockbuster appeal you mean sales... take a look at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, ARMS, and Zelda. All of them sold past 1 million units on their first month (or even their first week).
With the Switch still being a relatively hot new item, and with Mario Odyssey coming out soon, yup... I think it should outsell the competition this holiday.
Whether Nintendo manages to keep the hype and sales train chugging on the long run is another matter entirely. I hope they do, we need the Big 3 to be healthy on this industry.
Uh, no. Switch is more powerful than Wii U, and it looks better. Splatoon 2 looks better and runs at 1080p whereas Splatoon 1 was 720. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also runs st 1080p on Switch, the original Mario Kart 8 was 720p.
Troll harder.
Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 aren't Wii U ports, dude. They're sequels.
I would say yes, considering it's self published. And even when it's published by one of the Big 3, some games still manage to escape that exclusivity and come out for other platforms eventually.
Yeah, I'm sure we also being kinda younger had having kinda some more time to play 20 years ago also had something to do with it.
:P
Dude, come on. I know you love Ninty (and you probably know I do as well), but no... just no.
Nintendo's online implementation for the Switch is absolute shit, period. It's even worse than it was on the Wii U, and that's saying something.
Yes, you can in theory play with friends on Splatoon 2... but it's stupidly convoluted and hard. Without an universal messaging and invite system, it's effectively IMPOSSIBLE for me, for example, beca...
Imagine how amazing it's going to look on something that's even more powerful than that something that's even more powerful than Xbox One X!
wait wat
This game looks amazing overall, but I hope Nintendo finds some time to implement some anti aliasing because it looks very jaggy in places, especially when compared to games like Mario 3D World and even Ubisoft's Mario vs Rabbids game.
Nonetheless, it will still look fantastic. 3D Mario games are always visual showcases on their respective systems.
Wow, so much irony in your statement.
So, what you're saying is that portaibility isn't a reasonable point because there are people that don't care for it?
What about those people who DO care about portability?
I'm one of them.
If you don't care about portability, fair enough. In that case, the Xbox One or the PS4 versions will be the best for you, for sure. But you don't speak for everyone els...
He obviously doesn't.
Yes.
I own both a PS4 and Switch.
Doom wouldn't be acceptable to me at 720p 30 fps on PS4.
Doom will (probably) be very acceptable to me on Switch at 720p 30 fps if the framerate is stable.
Because I manage my expectations according to the hardware. I know the PS4 is much more powerful than the Switch, so I won't get mad at the Switch for not being able to produce Uncharted 4-level graphics... just like I wouldn't get mad at my P...
@InKnight:
"Nintendo Switch is designed to go wherever you do, transforming from home console to portable system in a snap."
Yup. A portable. Right from the link you posted.
How embarrassing.
Yeah, people would get pissed because Xbox One and PS4 are several times more powerful than Switch. They also are several times bigger. A PS4 is like the size of 8 Switches... lol.
The fact that Doom runs at all on such a minuscule device is what makes it OK for many of us. The Switch is barely the size of a phablet.
So, I'm excited for this release, but I'll wait for reviews before passing judgment. If the gameplay isn't severely compromised,...
Because your Vita wasn't running it natively. Good luck playing without a stable internet connection on both ends.
Remote play is a nice feature to have, but comparing that to actually playing a game natively on a portable console is ridiculous.
lmao.
Come on, I had a PS3 phat, second generation, retro compatible via emulation, with silver Spiderman font, the works.
We all know it was big and clunky and kitsch as hell. And we loved it nonetheless. :P
