Why do you even bother replying to Miku, one of the biggest trolls in the entire trolling history of N4G?
Come on, man.
We still don't really know if this is a sequel to Xenoblade or a new IP with the same gameplay style.
I think it's the latter. Outside of the gameplay mechanics, I just don't see the relation between the world shown in X and the Xenoblade world. I mean, just look at the Mechas. They have a more decidedly traditional and "realistic" design to them, whereas the "mechs" and "robots" in Xenoblade had all a more stylized fantasy style.
I expected the author to criticize Last of Us on the grounds that it's an extremely linear game, very limited in scope and with an environment heavily controled by the game developer... all of which served to produce a game with spectacular graphics and superb narrative, but in the end, felt less "gamey" than other games that are more open and varied.
And if that was the argument, I could've agreed partially to it, though claiming that it's "ruining...
I think it's a pretty respectable list and, well, it's your opinion.
However, I can't for the hell of me see how Trevor is anything like Heisenberg. Nope. That's absurd.
And the newly announced Zelda from Koei isn't a Zelda game, it's just a spinoff.
Nintendo themselves are making the true Zelda game for Wii U, and it's going to have a lengthy development cycle as always, and it will be awesome as always. So, that hasn't changed.
They're just being more flexible now and allowing third parties to make games with Ninty properties, while Nintendo themselves keep making as many games as before, with the usual ...
I seriously doubt 3D World was developed in just 9 months.
I agree with everything else you said, though.
Sadly, that seems like the case. Nintendo is actually pumping lots of great games constantly, both for 3DS and Wii U, but there's still so much a single company can do.
Expecting any single company to release AAA game after AAA game, month after month after month, is pretty unrealistic.
I'm deaf, so I don't know exactly what does they mean by equality. But if they mean, equality in general terms, regardless of gender, age, sexual preferences, race, etc, I think the Saints Row series takes the crown and run with it.
Mass Effect does a nice job at it, too, but it doesn't really come close to Saints Row.
Back in 2011. Seriously, pay attention, man.
2 years and change is a sensible time for a sequel.
Wishful thinking.
While you make good points, and I mainly agree with you... it's "their", not "there".
Sony will go mobile before Nintendo.
:)
I LOVE the Galaxy games. And I think that Mario 3D World is just as good as these games, for different reasons.
Personally, for me, it's:
Mario Galaxy 2 > Mario 3D World > Mario Galaxy 1.
That being said, I also want Nintendo to make a sucessor to Mario Galaxy. Not necessarily another Galaxy game, but yeah, I want another entry in these series where you search for stars and explore without time limits.
1/4th of the Wii U's install base has bought Super Mario 3D World.
That does not constitute, on this world nor any other, "mediocre" sales. This kind of attach rate is pretty damn high.
Johnny, Brawl "had" online play. The problem was, it was absolutely boken. It was unplayable for pretty much everyone.
Mario Kart is a series that was always awesome with local multiplayer. And since the DS version, every Mario Kart game has had online play as well, and that franchise became even better because of that.
Same can happen with Smash Bros, and pretty much any Nintendo game with multiplayer, really.
No. Just no. That's just apologism.
Yes, local multiplayer is awesome, and yes, Nintendo is still pretty much the king on that area.
That doesn't excuse their historically poor performance regarding all things online.
Keep the two facts separate, please. This article isn't about local multiplaer, it's about Nintendo's archaic and outdated views regarding online. In that area, they have a lot of catching up to do, and it wo...
14 pages? One game per page?
Forget it, guys.
Sorry, I think I wasn't clear enough. A Wii U redesign doesn't necessarily means making it smaller (although that would be a plus, of course). I was talking mainly about using cheaper components on the form of the console itself, not the internal hardware. The glossy plastic can be changed for a cheaper, matte one. The disc slot can be changed to a sliding door, which is much cheaper. That kind of thing.
As for the Gamepad: I don't mean making the screen drastical...
Ohhhh, crap. I guess I can take or leave Ninja Gaiden, but Wind Waker HD and Wonderful 101 are absolutely fantastic games, and having them included with a deluxe Wii U at only $270 is a damn steal.
Anyone still on the fence, I recommend to go for it.
