I've done the first and it ain't great but I'm a big fan of Boss fights, no one does as good as MGS though.
The first felt like a poor man's CoD and made me hate my PS3 when I first bought it. The beta of number two was garbage and so I never bothered.
I'm just glad that my PS3 had the dreaded blinking red lights and turned itself off and died. Now I'm safe forever. ;op

My friends and I use cross game chat loads, especially this time of year when there's no one big game to all play. It's a very useful feature but has its downside. So many folk use party/cross game chat that Live ain't what it used to be. You hardly ever make new friends because everyone closes themselves off in little groups.
So its a bit of a double edge sword in all reality.
It could be fun for a short while like Uncharted but EA have got it into their heads that every game has to have mp. Dead Space 2 wasn't any better because of the tacked on mp.
A strong sp game like Mass Effect doesn't lose anything by not having mp.
It will no doubt be split as a sp disc and a mp disc. It's not really a problem but next gen we need Bluray or huge hdd.
Blaming the riots is stupid, the cost of games in store combined with the recession is the real reason behind it. It's not just games but retail in general and the price of games online just makes is silly to buy in store unless your trading in old games.
I still believe a lot of game companies will get burnt this autumn as folk will only buy a few AAA games at launch.
It was never that popular on console so while I'm eager to play it, it won't come close to beating MW3 or BF3.
Also its an XBLA/PSN title, not a full retail game on disc.

While the usual suspects will do well there are a lot of games/devs who will get their fingers burnt this year. We are in the middle of a recession which seems to have gone unnoticed.
I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few got cold feet between now and November.
My PS3 is my main console for bluray and streaming content such as iPlayer. My 360 is my main gaming console, the status quo suits me fine the way it is.
GoW3 is a given AAA winner for xbox no matter what.
Twisted Metal, along with a lot of other titles would have a tough time coming out this autumn. BF3, MW3, Gears 3, R3 and Skyrim blah blah blah. Jaffe ain't stupid, avoiding all the crowded AAA run up to crimbo and adding more polish is the smartest thing he could do. The likes of Dead Island should follow suit imo, there's only so much money to go around this year.
While it is very good and I'm enjoying it immensely it seems to me its just lots of games pasted together. Two parts MGS, one part Splinter Cell, one part Bioshock and another of Mass Effect and even a dash of Crysis 2 with a drop of Riddick all expertly crafted together. I'm on the last mission, I think, and I've not encountered anything I haven't seen before, what makes Deus Ex good is combining it all in one package.
