I think that Infinity Ward has made the multiplayer in COD4 in a way that is near perfect. The controls feel really good, the multiplayer is balanced (unless you suck at it), the customization of skill sets is awesome, the maps look great and are set up nicely, and the game has the same type of party system that Halo 2 has (the one that doesn't kick you and your friends out of the party once the match is done).
CoD4 is a must buy for sure. Also I'm assuming that Infinity Ward ...

But I've been gaming for about 10 years and I love BioShock and I would consider it a classic (Well except that it is a lot like System Shock 2, but that game never got the respect it deserved. Anyways....)
Yeah I agree with Jay on this one.
DOOM (the example) is a classic shooter but that doesn't mean everything after DOOM sucks.

I think the only time hype can really get out of hand is when everyone begins building temples to Master Chief and Halo become a religion. That's when you kind of have to take it down a notch. >_>

I was kind of surprised to hear that RadioShack was selling copies of Halo 3 because if you've been in a RadioShack before you know that they don't sell video games at all.
But I'm still getting my copy of Halo 3 (Legendary Edition ^_^) from Gamestop because I've had mine reserved there forever.
