The only one I'd really agree with here is Crackdown 3. Not enough shown from the game to be sold on, personally. Everything else seemed like a big stretch, especially Kingdom Hearts. Plenty of Xbox 360 converts who never played 1.5 and 2.5 on PS3 and would benefit from playing it before Kingdom Hearts 3.
Agreed!
Totally get that idea that celebrating it will show companies that people are tired of MTs. My fear is that it will have the opposite effect. Celebrating it may imply to publishers that it's no longer considered the norm and, therefore, ok to push us even further.
Sure, but do you see a lot articles talking about polio nowadays?
My fear is that the opposite will happen. Celebrating things like this may send a message to publishers that we no longer see microtransaction-free single player games as a given and may try to push them more considering some would rather just have the money and don't care about consumer backlash.
Wasn't arguing that but...agreed!
Oh absolutely, just sad that we are that point
Considering I addressed that in the article, more like you just didn't read it and knee jerked at the title. ;-)
Hey guys,
If you have questions for me feel free to leave a reply! I'll be checking in a few times throughout the day.
No joke, I went back and forth with Sunset Overdrive and Halo MCC for a while. I think what did it for me is that I wrote the list to include people buying their very first console, meaning they didn't own a 360 and didn't play the older Halo games. Sunset would be my number 11. Fantastic gameplay and aesthetic but the story/dialogue was super cringy at times and kind of brought the experience down for me.
Didn't play Ori yet, want to though, the game looks great. Played Quantum Break, was not a fan.
Hey guys, if you have any questions or comments about the list feel free to reply to my comment here and I'll try to get to them as soon as I can!

I don't agree that Microsoft should abandon the Japanese game market but I DEFINITELY agree that they need to bring back some of their old IPs. New Crimson Skies would be AWESOME.
You're not really wrong about that, but it's about expanding the fan base, not doubling down on the one they already have.
May write that article depending on what happens at the Switch event on Thursday
These are both great articles that go more in depth with the issues Microsoft had in Japan than my article, which is more just a direct call for Microsoft to wake up. Thanks for sharing!
I think it still has a place if it were to be picked back up. Still plenty of that enthusiasm for less mature games.
I feel kinda the same way about, quite frankly, prefer the mainline games but I would definitely play this. As for the story, I do mention that it would be best to set the game prior to the events of Halo 1. That way, they wouldn't have to try and "Lego-ize" the Flood which would not work. Like you said, this is all hypothetical because the game is cancelled, although Bonnie Ross is on record saying that people are asking for a game like this so who knows.
Not the same studio but the burn is legit all the same
Looks like a pretty good lineup. Already have Force Unleashed but, if you don't, definitely play it this month.
