the only way sony might have the slightest chance of catching you is via a log file within a folder called HDDDEV-0 which shows what firmware your on and when updated.

As i said in a previous post, the cfw is not bricking the ps3's its when people try to hack the LV2 file or instal the peek and poke, Also the ps3's that are (SEMI) bricked can easily be fixed by downloading the official 3.55 patch and booting it from safe mode via usb.
People think the ps3 is hacked now which to be honest is far from the truth, once someone figures out LV2 all hell...

Yes some software figures will fall which is a shame but on the other hand where MP is the main selling point of a game EG KZ COD SOCOM etc.. i think its titles like these that will see a huge boost in sales especially if they are boasting a file size of over 15gb
Don't know if people are aware but the only people who bricked their consoles were the ones who fucked around with lv2 or installed the peek and poke cfw but it wasn't entirely bricked as you could booot in to safe mode and rebuild the os. However lv2 is being figured out and looks to be where all the brainsare in the ps3 .

I actually do believe the cfw gives the console more features, for eg all the people using cfw now have access to emulators ftp server applications, file managers and media players.
Also there is someone currently creating cross game chat for CFW, something that us sony fans have been crying out for for a very long time.

This is not a direct statement from sony its just another call centre operative, there is another recorded phone call from a guy in us who speaks to technical support and they advise him if you want to modify the firmware its fine because you own the console. The call rep also advises its impossible to get banned due to sony not being able to detect it because of the signed code thats on the firmware.

Or you can just downgrade the firmware and use the ps3jailbreak which is MUCH easier than custom firmware or other OS.
People are doing this to start with so low lives can pirate until they can figure out a way to code another firmware
i think most people would, except the odd few who plan on stealing from devs
he does not need to downgrade to use homebrew or anything like that so the only reason i can think he is doing this is to enable backups/pirated games, also he plans on releasing his method to the public.

are you kidding? FNR4 was brilliant, there were issues at first with the online component where noob players would spam with body shots and not loose any stamina but that was soon sorted out. single player i though was excellect and the new total punch control was awesome.

The thing is @Tinasumsum we all know that the pics we are seeing for killzone is what we will get come launch day, as for crysis how the fuck do we know if this is a console build, i would bet money that them screens are straight from the PC. Also has crytec even released any direct feed screens or footage for the consoles?
