@YodaCracker "he is old enough to write articles?"
Hmmn I think in life it would be wise to read & write before playing videogames. (but then again I grew up on some of those crappy Keystage one pc gaems with reader rabbit and co)
Both Sandbox and forge world would have each been infinitely better if you had the option to choose a theme for the entire map via the menus. (Desert, Arctic, Grassy, etc)
Reach's forge while it gave you a lot more control over placement and phasing, was a large disappointment. Sandbox over Forge world any day of the week, a lot of the fun from halo 3's forge was removed. Going on sandbox with a group of friends to make "castles" was no where near as fun due to them removing most of the movable blocks and giving you to many preset buildings
:(
I couldn't never like a game where you shoot a guard and they assume its the wind...
Both overrated and terrible games? Check.
But this isn't a new phenomenon, just the way its distributed is new. Last gen we had lots of expansion pack discs.
- Halo 2 map pack,
- COD: United Offensive
- Medal of Honor had a couple
- Battlefield 1942 Road to Rome & Secret Weapons of ww2
- Battlefield 2 had around 3
I don't have a problem with DLC if its done correctly (Shivering isles), but if its to access content already on the disc, that's not right....
Either way its not my kind of game, but its a shame to see an game get cancelled.
@Kent80082007
Yeah.... No there not.
If your a real fan of games you would play and enjoy the great games on all platforms rather than make inaccurate derogatory statements about one console or another. Both the 360 and PS3, even the Wii and PC for that matter have stand out platform exclusive games. To say the only games a 360 gets are shooters would be like saying all the PS3 has is Japanese games, completely untrue, ignorant and inaccurate.
Am i right in thinking that the engine they use is still a heavily modified version of the 1999 quake 3 engine?
You realize that most medal of honors and call of duty games borrow heavily from films? COD1 was basically Band of brothers while Medal of honor allied assault followed saving private ryan almost completely!
So we can hit some pandas with steel chairs? :P
I'm not saying it copied Halo at all, I'm just stating the resemblance. I've never heard of tribes, but if its been around since 98 then it probably helped inspire halos art direction.
All of the games you have bought on that console. You only need access to live if you've transferred them. Even then you can change your settings so that you can play those games offline.
@MathsMan but yes you obviously cant play a live multi player only game offline and as you say there's not many of those.
@ Light of Darkness THE COUNTRY OF THE POTATO PEOPLE! OBVIOUSLY.
-EDIT- Mr Flibble is very cross...
This looks very similar to Halo, especially that gun in the article picture, and of course the colorful look of the game. (That's not a bad thing though)
and absolutely, positively, utterly destroyed her. Hell he probably lost a sledgehammer or 2 in there :P
Do you not consider other games in the elder scrolls series to be open world? Oblivion, Morrowind?
Also Red Faction Guerrilla and Just Cause 2 are very fun open world games.
I agree the witchEr 2 did look amazing though. I never picked up Dragon age, I had the 1st 2 mass effects but fell out with the 2nd one. I've played the hell out of the Elder Scrolls series, still looking for a game that plays like those. I should have investigated Witcher2 before buying it as I assumed it would more open work than it was.
I preordered this for 360, and after about 5 hours of playing it all I can say is,
Disappointment.
I hope this means the ranking system from Halo 3 is back, where to rank up you actually had to be good at the game as opposed to just playing it for a long period of time. It takes the piss when you play a game full of colonels on bf3 and half of them are terrible, but just get points for taking part.
