I have been playing a bunch of games on my phone on mediocre internet (5ghz wifi tho) with no issue. Of course I haven't been playing games I wouldn't play over Wi-Fi on console (FPS) but RPGs and over-the-shoulder adventure games work really well
I play on my phone over 5ghz wifi. It's amazing when it comes to RPGs and adventure games I didn't try any FPS because I don't even like playing them over wifi on any platform. Playing Wasteland, middle earth, nair, and no mans sky are ran great!

There is an easy answer that I'm sure you're already aware of. 4k takes around 3-4 time the graphical power to process than 1080p. Meaning that the console targeting 1080p has less work to do. Series S is ultra capable of 1080p gaming. Go look at what it takes to run PC games with max settings at 1080p. Series S is gonna run 1080p better that Series X runs 4k

Thank goodness they're actually taking advantage of the tech that exists. Often I totally want to play my Xbox game while I'm laying down in bed but normally I just end up playing some type of mobile game
You are forgetting that with SSD games will actually be smaller because of less redundancies and code also the fact that this is not a 4K machine means that you're going to see game sizes closer to what you see on PC
My nephews will be getting a XSS because he has a nice 1080p TV already. I'll get a new tv and XSX. This is a major win for MS. 4k is very demanding, by the numbers it seems XSS will be able to run 1080P better than XSX runs 4k.

That's only because developers are really really inefficient at coding. There is absolutely more than enough power in the new machines to push near photorealistic graphics. But until Gamers start holding developers accountable by not buying their BS we will never get the games that we should been playing

Just like the PlayStation 4 was clearly stronger last generation with everything taken into consideration the Xbox series X is clearly stronger. The ray tracing alone makes it stronger by a long shot.
