@gozer

I'm sick of comments like your, 1st off x1 games were running on windows 7 or 8 on PCs big difference from running on a Devkit and thats why people were worried. Devkit != Console Spec PCs, Devkit are the console but with extra stuff, like port or memory for editors and debug software, for development. But I don't think they will be adding memory to the devkits for X1 and PS4 now that they both are 8gb of ram, they just make a dev version of the OS to give them ...

WinRT (Windows Runtime, unlikely to be what you meant) is a software layer on top of which Metro apps are built, while Windows 8 is the whole operating system;
Windows RT (most likely the one you meant), this is a version of Windows 8 for devices using processors based on the ARM achitecture and instruction set.

Why upgrade RAM in PS4 and not GPU? Well, if you check out the system architecture the GPU can off load tasks to CPU without a performance hit, unlike normal PC architecture were the CPU would not only have to complete the task but transfer it across the system bus to the GPU's RAM. This is one of the main reasons the x360 can keep up with the PS3 in performance, that plus the hardware accelerated AA that the GPU can do in the x360. This is one of the most confusing thing about the NextX...

Still got my Fat PS3 backward compatible, it needs a new HDD cause the 80gb one is full :(
MS just sent me a email, they took $60 from my account, forgot about that. only turned on my x360 three times. I should finish Gears 1 & 2, fable 3, and bayonetta. Try to get some uses out of the $60 bucks they took :(

This story is taking the source out of context. If you read the press release on the page, It clearly state that BDXL is targeted primarily at commercial uses in the Professional industries. I don't care for the article mainly becasue they trying to said that current blu-ray tech is on the way out because of 3D moives, which is not true since current blu-ray tech can reach well over 100GB if needed but is not cost effective so you can also assume that this tech is not cost effective for anybo...

the PS3 and all other Blu-ray player who can update over the internet have higher-capacity discs as already I believe up to 200 gb maybe more. this new format seem like bull. why would you want someone to be able to record on your disc with a store bought movie/game. Sony already make a movie/game disc. and if a company want to they can just add a layer, what's wrong with that?
