All you have to do is look at NPD numbers in comparison to their projected numbers to see they undertrack the PS4 and overtrack Xbox One. It happens every month. In November they said the Xbox One was outselling the PS4 2:1. They were off by a few hundred thousand.
If you want information on sales listen to the people who know these things who frequent Neogaf. They work for companies that know these things.
I think Nintendo should just be quiet and be happy the people who own their console enjoy it.
Unfortunately the public doesn't feel the same way based on how they have recieved them.
It's pretty clear they like the PS4 and it's games since it sells more hardware and software than Xbox One and Wii U combined worldwide.
What a disgrace. This is a massive problem with gaming journalism these days. They just cater to the moment and never think about the bigger picture like the state of the industry or the people it's affecting or in some cases manipulating. IGN gave the MCC a 9/10 knowing it was broken. They call the patches "content updates" it's quite ridiculous,. Not to mention the hordes that defend these practices.
Look at Eurogamer's technical analysis and review...
"It's nice to hear when consoles are doing well though."
Because sales matter. Like I said above, it shouldn't affect your enjoyment but to act like they don't matter is very naive. Future iterations are dependant on sales, MP communities are dependant on sales, New consoles are dependant on sales. There will probably never be a Vita 2 because of this, or Bayonetta, or Forza Horizon, or Sunset Overdrive or Alien Isolation, or DA:I. All are great games t...
Exactly. This new trend of sales don't matter is incredibility naive. If things don't sell, new versions don't get made. For example there might not be another Bayonetta or Forza Horizon and that's not based on how much people enjoyed them.
Sales shouldn't affect your enjoyment, but to act like they don't matter is very very naive.
I think the better question is why did you even come to an article about sales and comment? If you don't care, don't click. Not everyone is you and you'll just have to accept that. I always feel like these comments come from people that don't like what they see, more than not caring. It feels like a defense mechanism.
Fallout 4 will be buggy at release and probably forever like Vegas and 3. I think people are confused about the difference between bugs and broken though. Bugs are going to be there when systems are layed over systems. But there is a difference between Skyrim's launch on PS3 and NV on any platform.
And lets wait until they're announced first at least.
Most overlooked game of 2014 IMO was Alien Isolation, it didn't do well.
If we're talking sales wise overlooked LBP3, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon, DA:I and Bayonetta 2 to the list. All of the scored high and sold very poorly.
The thirst is real.
Exactly. Their internal goals failed miserably, which is really all that matters to them.
It's the delivery and the drive for a negative headline like "slower CPU" than explaining the technical process itself. My point is, is these websites go around asking questions about things they know nothing about trying to encourage a response. The way the narrative is pushed is ridiculous, it's like insinuating the CPU needs to be pushed for this game, when in reality this generation will be pushed much farther than the technical processes this game is delivering. Don'...
Mordor on 360 and PS3 is straight up broken. The PS3 more than 360 version. It's shouldn't have been released. The will both consistently run under 20FPS for long periods of time.
Everybody just treats game development like a straight forward process when it's the complete opposite.
You seem to hung up on marketing. Which I agree was bad. But it was many problems that caused this. The name, the controller, the price, the specs, their attitude towards indies, their 3rd party relations, OS choices, timing, the reveal, online elements and much more caused these problems not just marketing.
Nintendo just does crazy things that only make sense to them, some work some don't. The Wii U didn't. They'll be back with some other crazy idea in the futu...
It did sell very well on Xbox One considering the install base. I played Titanfall at a friends a few times and enjoyed it, it wasn't anything groundbreaking though. IMO alot of the hype had to do with timing and the situation at the time, not the game itself.
As well as it did critically and how well it was recieved, the game fell of the map as far as people playing it, which is typical overhype.

Yep. 2015 is literally filled with games that aren't on any other console aside from PS4. Full exclusives and console exclusives. AAA and indies. If you don't have one, it's definitely time to get one.
Both PS4 and Xbox One will have a great year for multiplatform games.
The Wii U and GC proved that just having highly rated exclusive software does not sell a console. People like having a wide variety of options and the exclusives just help them pick one over the other. 3rd party support is mandatory and brings to light just how much power publishers have over gaming. The more definitive market leader you are gives you perks, but ultimately they are in control.
Considering it's selling faster than the PS3 and at pretty much the same rate as the Wii. I'd say the market already answered that question. If it's line-up interests you or not, is a personal choice.
Beautiful.

One of my most anticipated of 2015 and sooner than expected.
