Well its no surprise considering their MULTIPLATFORM HD CONSOLE SHOOTER was royally squished by Eurocom's Wii exclusive SHOOTER in regards to sales as well as critics.
I don't see how IGN is being unfair at all! 9.5 is a perfectly great score. If they give higher than that, it will have to be 10!
Super Mario World should also have been included. Along with this, if the presentation, graphics and soundtrack were improved this game would have got 10/10.
Well that's not exactly true... 360 had Halo a few months back, and will have Forza 4, Star Wars Kinect, Codename D, Kingdoms, XCom and Gears of War 3 soon.
I don't think this is a good idea. XIII was a great game, and it's over now. What Square should do is focus all their efforts on FFXIV and make the PS3 version 100x better than it's PC counterpart.
Enix on the other hand, is busy working with Dragon Quest X for the Wii. Dare they mess that up!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 easily surpassed this game last year. Not to mention Uncharted 2, CoD4, Metroid Prime Trilogy, God of War II, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, GTAIV, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Okami, Resident Evil 4 and quite a few others have been better games in the past 5 years.
