I don’t think any Nintendo fan cared if this was a flop. I’m a Nintendo fan and was excited to play it on my ps4
But the game isn’t funner because of its graphics. They really changed the design and added a lot of marketable mechanics

At the point I could care less about pushing games further graphically. In only 20 years there way beyond what I could imagine us doing back then in a hundred.
Just make good games that are fun... and so far the triple a industry is losing the battle against start up indie companies in that department.

This is not for the core audience. This is to get kids/etc non gamers into the core audience like the Wii did. This is not for adults.
Nintendo is still pushing their core audience with fantastic games.

Things can be for kids and not dumb. And Pokémon is a game very well designed. It’s at least better then the yearly releases most kids play

Classic example of having your cake and eating it too. They don’t need to put it in their games if they get 30% of the profits from third party publishers. Sony is still supporting games as a service just not directly
