This is pure rumor and after playing for many hours post patch I can confirm nothing has changed with the textures on the PS3.
The patch was 2.01 on PS3's in the UK, strange how it is called 1.2 in the notes.

I know players with the Slim that have bad lag post Skyrim patch, although I have a Slim with a large save file and it has been running really smooth for over 4 hours after the patch.
What model PS3 are you using?
It's interesting as we've played post patch for 4 hours with no lag on a PS3 slim and a 12MB save file, although this many people having issues after the update means Bethesda still have work to do.
I get tired of games repeating too much from previous titles, the money made by games these days should lead to a lot more innovation.
My new wife in Skyrim is nowhere to be found, been home a few times, although it's good to get a free home to myself.
COD needs to bring something new to the table.
Finding the unique weapons is my mission in Skyrim, although making enchanted weapons is fun too.
BF3 all the way when it comes to the best FPS for me right now, although Skyrim has taken a lot of my time too.
MW3 will have a lot of DLC and Elite helps save money here, although you're spot on there about BF3, and vehicles are just so cool.
Works a treat!
Skyrim is a great game but the more you play it on the PS3, the more it becomes unplayable and a restart is needed to fix the lag issue. The wait for this patch will be one of the longest.
While it is understandable children would die when a village is attacked by a dragon, it should stay hidden.
I hate having to drop nice weapons, my house in Skyrim is where I store them.
If someone killed your wife, surly no bounty paid would be enough to that person, even in Skyrim?
There is always something to learn.
The Skyrim world is massive so it sets you free, although you will be pulled in so much it will tie you down and overtake your life.
I wonder if this gets patched in the next update.
It will be live now, US was a little later than UK.
