Not trying to justify their sales but they did fuse two install bases... 3DS and WiiU into one. Fans of portable and console gaming into 1. Of it didn’t sell that much I’d be worried for Nintendo’s future as the switch addresses mobile gaming and WiiUs successor
they are making money on subscriptions and 3rd party hardware sales. they are also pretty conservative as to what they are investing inn regarding first party games vs Sony invest a ton on first party software. In the end making a profit is a good sign for investors of the company
