Compared to last year they lost a lot of money.that is why they call it financila losses.
Sony wanted to push the PS3 sales they would have stopped the support for the PS2. I am pretty sure that Sony is very happy withe sales of the PS3 at the current stage.It is the strategy Sony is using. They know that 2008 will be the Sony year with a lot of games coming out.

but the games will not get much better than GOW. There will be small improvements. I just think that the PS3 has more potential left in it than the 360 because of the cell and the developers still do not know how to develop on the PS3. Just my opinion.
will not push the PS3 to the limits. Look back at the PS2 every year the games got better ad better as the developers lend how to use the hardware. It will only show the potential the PS3 has. On the other hand GoW pushed the 360 to the limits that is why we will not see much improvement in the coming years on the 360 graphics.
The price drop should happen this year. Sony already calculated in a loss for this year but with the manufacturing cost going down they can make a price cut and still lose the same amount of money. Who knows maybe even less.

That guy does not realize in what position Sony is. In 3 years the PS3 will be the leading console for several reasons.
1.
Once they reach the 10 Million mark they will get most of the exclusive back and they will hame more great games in addition. Sony alone owns 16 studios(That is more than Microsoft and nitendo together) and the number is increasing.
2. Blu-Ray the extra data will make games longer and better.
3. The cell power has not even bee touched yet.

Blu-ray and HD-dvd are both HD-DVD formats. When people search they type in HD DVD because that is what the next gen DVD's are.

MS does not have much more in their piggy bank. They had to pay a lot of money to get some of the Sony exclusive games to the 360. That is all part of the business strategy.
FF will be an excellent game. It looks like it is safe to say that FF XIII is a PS3 exclusive but FF versus may not be because they did not have the PS3 screen at the end.
as an example. It took several years for the developers to unleash the full potential of the system. The PS3 is designed the same way. The games will get better and better every year.
On the other hand the 360 is more developer friendly that is why the current games look a little bit better than the PS3 games. I do not believe that there is much potential left in the XBOX(Gears was the highlight) while the PS3 powers have not been unlocked yet.
I do not understand why people do no believe that the PS3 will sell close to 10 mil consoles by the end of the year. The PS3 sold more consoles than the 360 in the same amount of time without any outstanding games. There should be at least 3 AAA titles on the way by the end of the year that will increase PS3 sales. On the other hand hello 3 will move a lot 360 in the same time so Sony will not be able to close the in total console sales. 2008 will be a totally different story. There no AAA ga...
