Completely missed the point. Last of Us was done on a 7 year old console that was hard to develop for with and even older gpu and ended up being one of the best looking games of the generation.

Cool story except your paranoia is clouding common sense. DLC started on PC at the time they wen't called DLC they were called expansion packs plus DLC is released for PC. I watched several playthroughs of DarK Soul 2 DLC PC version so I know PC gamers buy DLC.

This is why if you're going to release a game where the gameplay is dependent on online you do public beta test. If they did most the server issues could have been resolved before launch.
And companies know this which is why they will continue to give PC half assed ports cuz they know they can get free labor.
That will only encourage devs to continue. Think about it. Why would a dev put in time and money to improve the quality when they know someone else will do it for free. Best thing to do is not buy the game. If they want your money let them make a game that worth your money.
Two words "CASH GRAB" Square was probably like "lets just dump it on PC at a low price and people will buy it." The thing that I know is going to happen is that somebody is going to make a mod that unlocks it which is bad. That encourages these companies to continue to do stuff like this in order to save money on R&D and get free labor from the consumer.

It was a PSP game. The PS4 and Xbox are not in the same lineage as the psp. So its not consider BC for them to play a psp game. The vita however is in the same lineage and does have BC for psp games so nobody has to pay again unless they wanted to.
If the ps4 was able to do 1080p but they chose to reduce the resolution then the patch wouldn't affect the NPC count nor A.I.

Actually the lack of backwards compatibility wouldn't make a difference. This game is also coming out on Ps3 and 360. Keep in mind that they already have 2 versions DOA5 and Ultimate. They probably would have made this even if the new consoles had BC.
