It's not going to hinder the development of other Metal Gear games, the franchise is not "ruined."
But the enemies are attacking and trying to eat people. It's not hard to assume that the zombie archtype isn't going to be undergoing any major change in this game.

But that's not the kind of change I wanted. (well, it's one of them actually) I wanted the behavior and overall threat of the infected to be something other than "attack, kill, eat"
I expect a bit of intelligence and maybe even fear from infected drones that are on the verge of exploding and releasing spores in crowded spaces.
I liked the trailer but reading this brings certain things to light that I don't really care for.
At the moment the pros outweigh the cons. Why do they feel the need to develop with the western audience in mind though? oh come on, they attack and are specifically trying to eat people. Ants don't turn cannibalistic when they get infected with cordyceps, they carry it back to their colony and let the spores infect everybody else.
The game should be about the panic of the infection and stopping these ticking time bombs from wiping out humanity.
