How does that post have anything to do with Blu-ray playback? Isn't removing Blu-ray playback a sign of focusing on games (though I know Wii didn't have it either)?

Didn't expect it to at all and dunno why it should anyway. Got my PS3 for Blu-ray playback, but will get the Wii U just for gaming, just as I did with the Wii. Blu-ray/DVD playback would be a nice finess, but certainly not vital IMO. Would just mean it would be more expensive.

The shallow specs we officially got from Nintendo (go look at Nintendo's E3 page) indicates that it will be way more powerful than the Wii. Excactly how powerful I can't say, but of course it will be more powerful, anything else would not make sense.

Alright I did not know that. Consider me convinced, I just don't think Sony has advertised this very well (which they should).
Oh well, as I said I will probably be getting both. The Nintendo Wii U for Zelda and Super Smash Bros. in HD and the Vita for MGS and .. yea whatever awesome games might be coming to it (crossing my fingers for a new Jak from Naughty Dog).

I think you're missing the whole concept of professionalism. When you're a billion dollar company, you just don't go around and directly talk shit to other developers.
Wow I thought when you guys said that the outdoor environment looked better on 360 I would be thinking "I can't see a difference at all", but it clearly looks better on 360 than PS3. Hmm, which one to get, guess I will get 360 and dig it out from my room, after months of being dominated by the PS3 xD
Can't wait for this to come out. It will be a gracious sayonara for the Wii!

There's something you missed here. A generation does not equal 10 years, that's a decade.
A generation means new descendants. So you could argue that everytime a new console appears, we're moving into a new generation of gaming.
A lot of people seem to miss this point (if we look at it literally). Dunno where you heard a gaming generation = 10 years.

Is he serious? Why is it everyone thinks this is just going to be a device that lets you take the console game "with you". That's not the MAIN point of the system you know ..
Now I'm not fully aware of the differences in touch screens, but what I do know is that the 3DS touch screen works well and also better than some of my other touch devices. Can't see why they would change it if it's cheaper and works really well. But don't know what "same backwards compatibility" it would support, 3DS games on the Wii U or what are they talking about?
