I'd love to get the slim version as well but waiting 2-3 years is too much for me.
Nothing can really change my mind about buying the system on day one. Since I'm buying my games from retail the memory card situation isn't even an issue for me.
I think people are complaining just for the sake of complaining, if Sony had used a standard memory card I'm sure there would be articles claiming that the Vita wouldn't be worth buying because of piracy issues.
Either way, Sony can't win.
How is it embarrassing exactly? Onlive has no exclusives that can match what's available on the PS3 and the 360. Onlive is a decent enough service, but embarrassing for Sony/Microsoft? Hardly.

My three months has expired, I'm just waiting until I get paid again before getting a yearly subscription. It's a really decent service for those who use the store a lot.

You honestly don't notice? Even if you're using apps and gaming for most of the time you still have to go back to the dashboard to switch to something new.
It's going to be a great year for both the Playstation 3 and the Vita.
