depends if we become friends with the aliens or not lol
i agree with you Philoctetes. what you're saying kind of reminds me of the lyrics from hotel california. "some dance to remember, some dance to forget."
in your case, you probably don't want to be reminded of such tragedies in a game, whereas others (such as my whole division it seems like) couldn't care less. hell, i got friends in my platoon who always talk shit about gangbangers and rant how much they hate them but then they go collect all the fe...
every soldier always somewhat respects their opponent's virtue, dedication, sacrifice, and the will to fight for their own country.
but talk to people who've been in POW camps and ask them what they think about their enemies. nothing but angst and hate i can promise you. i'm not negating what Hank Keirsey said, and as a matter of a fact, i slightly agree with him on some merits; but there is always more than one opinion/viewpoint with soldiers who have scene...
holy shit smokeymcbear!?!?!?
how did you get so many bubbles?
hey Nawert, i'm just curious what your MOS was.
what? gain perspective as the Taliban? you think i just look at viewpoints objectively one-way? i look at just about any situation in war from multiple viewpoints. its like that quote from the Opposing Viewpoint book series. "he who doesn't understand their opponent's argument, doesn't understand their own."
i'm not saying my thought process on this whole thing is correct. i just don't get how a game like Six Days of Fallujah gets canned...
soldiers that suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder will definitely have triggered flashbacks if they played as the Taliban. it's a psychological thing that only a person who has experienced it could possibly understand.
at the same time, i'm sure there are those who have gone to war and it wouldn't bother them the slightest.
my division still plays any cod game like its crack.
eh, i can see a few of my buddies of mine and myself having a hard time playing as the Taliban. you wouldn't understand it completely unless you've been in the shoes of the soldiers that are still traumatized to this day having brothers die from IED's in baby carriages or watching execution videos of fellow comrades. it's a horrific nightmare, worse than a bad LSD trip could ever be (sorry, that's the only thing i can think of comparing it to)
i unders...
wow, i remember someone commenting on here a while ago that this chip would increase hardware sales. good prediction whoever said it.
second-guess much?
go sit in the corner...you're done for today.
damn, you thought heavy rain and killzone 2 were overrated? i can understand a little bit on killzone 2 since it suffered from ennui after long playing periods and there wasn't much variety once you've explored every facet of the game (still my favorite game of 2009 along with uncharted 2 and assassin's creed 2) but heavy rain blew my mind just about as much as mgs4. mgs4 and heavy rain are the only games this generation where i didn't feel slightly dissapointed that it didn...
THANK YOU SKULLSMASHER FOR FINALLY EMBEDDING THE FAMOUSE NOTION OF QUALITY OVER QUANTITY WITH THE EASE OF A SIMPLE ANALOGY.
really people, think about it. who cares if there are billions of people who go to mcdonalds. is it going to beat the filet mignon which less people consume compared to micky d's? hell no, and you're on (good) drugs to think that.
can't agree with you on that Prcko.
i think awesome multiplats such as Rage compliment the ps3's amazing list of exclusives. they don't go against each other.
well you've missed out on a lot of good games this year. and call god of war a button smasher all you want, but i promise you'
ve never seen a game as beautifully rendered as god of war 3. the first 2 hours literally blows away any game you've ever seen on console to date and thats no exaggeration; that's my objective opinion (ironic, right?)
and oh yeah, i almost forgot my game of the year...heavy rain. i'll go as far to say that heavy rain ...
you actually prove a good point jivah. on the contrary however, there are still a plethora liegitimate games to look forward such as killzone 3, GT5, twisted metal and some other titles that we've actually seen gameplay of.
i like how you said Activision fads instead of games. bubbles.
wait!?!?!? killzone 3 is releasing this year!?
HELL YES!
lmao i would like to toke
you prove good points but the diffence i think with WW2 and the war in the middle east is comprised of two things. 1) everyone from the WW2 generation are most certainly not gamers have no relation to games whatsoever. i honestly don't know anyone from that time period who gives a rat's ass about gaming so for them to be vindictive about games like medal of honor or call of duty is a moot point (though i'm sure there are exceptions.) 2) the war in the middle east is still occu...
