-Not to mention that the cores in the 360 are more general purpose, while the SPUs are more specialized and best suited to streaming floating point calculations. The 360's architecture is going to be more efficient for most developers out there.-
-If you had actually played the game you would know that it is hands down one of the best-looking games to come out this generation. The Hollow, Lima Sinkhole and inside the giant worm are three areas where the graphics blew me away and look as good as anything I saw in Killzone 2.-
-Just because there are some low res textures on some Locust that you are never going to be able to get that close to and stare at when you are actually playing the game doesn't change the fact that Gears 2 overall is one of the best looking games this generation. You can find some examples of sketchy graphics in Uncharted and Killzone 2 as well. For fun, I have compared Uncharted and Killzone 2 against Gears of War 2 on my own HDTV and Gears 2 looks just as good as either of those two game...
"look at dead space, lead platform on ps3 and looked better than 360"
Another myth spread by ps3 fans. Dead Space in fact looked about the same on both machines, but the 360 version had a much more solid frame rate than the ps3 version.
Here is what Eurogamer said in their comparison:
"Despite some pretty frank comments from the Dead Space developers that working with the Sony console was 'challenging', the internet has spoken and apparently the...
-Killzone 2 is a nice looking game, but it in no way sh*ts on every 360 game. Gears of War 2, for example, looks just as good. PS3 fans will deny it to the ends of the earth, but I have done a comparison back and forth between the two games and found that Gears 2 does some things better and Killzone 2 does some things better, but all in all I would say that are both on the same level.-
-The myth of the ps3 being more powerful is just that, a myth...started by Sony and propagate...
-Neither of those links address the issue of the reduced rendering resolution of the ps3 version, nor the missing effects, the Vaseline effect or the inferior quincunx anti-aliasing. Honestly, none of these issues are surprising. It's the same thing we see on a multitude of multiplatform games on the ps3.-
-Some of you might choose to doubt it now, but I am sure that when Digital Foundry does their detailed analysis of the two versions that they will come to the same conclusion...
-This doesn't surprise me. We see the same thing time and time again. The ps3 is around the same power as the 360, but it is much more difficult to work with, which results in most games looking worse on the ps3. According to some devs it takes nearly twice as much work getting the ps3 versions up to the level of the 360. And from what I have seen they almost never achieve it. Sure, a couple of first party ps3 exclusives manage to look as good as the better games on the 360, but the vast...
-Obviously people are disagreeing with you because you are implying that the PS3 has more quality, while the 360 has more quantity, and that isn't true. The 360 has quantity and quality. The ps3 is behind in the quantity and about equal in the quality-
-Yeah right, it's the ps3 that is struggling to keep up with the 360 in most regards. A few exclusives on both consoles are basically tied in the graphics department, but the 360 outperforms the ps3 on most multiplatform games-
The next Xbox will probably arrive in 2011 and will be a full generational leap of technology. MS is not going to release a watered down repackaged 360 with motion controller. Trust me, they're not.
-So what? Gears 2 is one of the best looking games on consoles and easily goes head to head with Killzone 2. Unless you have your fanboy goggles on...
-The Crysis devs said they are maxing out the ps3 and that the two console versions will look the same. Criterion, on the other hand, said that neither console is maxed out.-
Hmm...and who would've thought a guy with a PS3 avatar would think Gran Turismo is better? Pot calling kettle black here.
I'll tell you, I have both consoles and I still think Forza is better. I'll probably buy them both though, if GT5 lives up to its hype.
The first two morons are the ones you should be calling immature. Their comments stink of bias. Microsoft has innovated as much or more than anybody this generation and Sony has been mostly following in their footsteps. At least that is how I see it, as someone who has both consoles.
Turn 10 never said GT sucks....so, want to keep on lying?
-It hasn't been the bench mark for the past two games.
I am sure GT5 will be an amazing game though, so don't worry-
-It's funny all the screen shots people have posted in these comments hoping to show how much GT5P is supposedly better only help to show the opposite. Forza 3 looks better without a doubt.-
-I have put a good amount of time in on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and I agree with the Forza devs about Forza 3 being the best looking driving sim. Maybe you don't agree, but in my opinion Forza 3 does look better than GT5P and until we see GT5 gameplay there is no doubt in my mind that Forza 3 is currently the best looking driving sim.-
-The reflectivity does look right to me and looks close to perfect. In fact, I think the cars in Forza 3 look better and more realistic than th...
Hey the articles are being written because Forza 3 made a big splash at E3 and people are excited for the game.
Don't forget how many Killzone 2 articles were constantly posted here a while back. I don't think you need to be complaining about Forza 3 articles.-
Forza 3 is looking awesome indeed. Racing fans, rejoice!
-So what's new? Almost every multiplat looks better on the 360.
