The first one was published on consoles by Microsoft... there is also rumors of a deal with Bioware... Bioware and Microsoft were very close before EA purchased them. It wouldn't surprise me if we see spin offs on the PS3 or games after the trilogy is finished... like a prequel.

The character was almsot totally improvised by his voice actor... so saying he is stereotypical is calling out the guy who does his voice... personally he's my favorite character in the series
the water is much better... but that is just looks wonder how it flows... the artistic style of Crackdown 1 is something that's hard to not like once you get into the game
It's not just texture swaping (that's not a simple thing btw) though My guess is they used the base city as a model for their own city and then build from there. Many things are better... we have much higher quality overall and they extended the draw distance even with the quality bump... certainlly I'll miss the intentianlly comic look of the game, but this is darker... it would be nice to have a more destructable environment.
