actually, developers DO have a choice on developing for the PS3. They could develop a game on DVD because the PS3 DOES play DVDs too. But why would you want to do that?
First party developers go Blu-Ray because the games almost always surpass 9GB.
Third-Parties do it most likely to be able to repeat data around the disc to decrease seek times.
I am personally thankful for Blu-Ray on the PS3 and would not have it any other way. Why would anyone want to keep playing 9GB game...

That's one of the big reasons why the PS2 went from large to slim, because the PSU went from inside to out. This method falsely makes the system look smaller, simply by relocating the power unit.

The reason the meta is lower is because Killzone 2 was docked off points for not being "halo" in certain aspects, rather than graded on what it is.
You probably won't even read a Killzone 2 review without reading the word "Halo" at all.

1) to get rid of the older refurb PS3s that are just laying around.
2) in hopes that someone that is looking for one just to get the $50 off (artificially) would give up and just buy a new one or a referb 80GB.

I work for Gamestop and they pay my bills. Also, I am a PS3 gamer, for life.
And as employees, we all follow the rules and policies that we have to follow in order to keep our jobs, especially in this economic hardship, just like any other job in existance. We cannot give more for trades, that's all handled by corporate. So maybe choose your words wisely and wish bad luck upon those who set the trade-in values, because as an employee, that power is not within us.
