...but Alexis Machine seems to assume (rather wrongly) that the PS3's version is not only ground-up but inferior to the 360's due to inferior hardware (false) instead of of the truth -- a half-assed port by an incompetent company.
******
What i find strange is that this game isn't really a port. Didn't someone somewhere say that there are two separate developers working for each of the two versions?
******
Link, please? "Didn't someone somewhere say" isn't exactly credible information. Amazingly, though, you seem to base your entire post off of this "fact".

First, let me tell you this : Fallout 1 and 2 were never, ever about the graphics. The graphics were only good enough to do the job.
That being said, Fallout 2 (I never finished 1) was awesome. There was so much depth to the game that it was amazing how you could play through the game.
It was also filled with a whole crapload of humor, something a lot of games lac...
on the PS3 look like total garbage. I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe devs. using default PS3 tools to cast character shadows, but they look absolutely horrible.
I'm not sure which game on the PS3 "solved" this issue, but I wish they would teach other people how to do it.
Very distracting...and I own the PS3, not 360.

I am curious though as to how SPUs have an effect directly on motion rendering. So far they've been greatly useful with physics and AI, but not so much the graphics part.
*****
SPUs could probably be used to calculate some pixel operations, like blurring, etc, thereby saving the RSX from having to do it. They're just number crunchers, basically, so if you could use them to do graphics calculations then they'll help.
I have no idea if they can do th...

...the hell would you want Divx when PS3 (and PSP I believe) already play H264 files in an MP4 wrapper -- aka, better than Divx.
The other features sound cool, but this stuff sounds way too good to be true.

As for the PSP = PS3 PSN game monitor -- it *sounds* something like this..the PSP would simply act as dummy terminal, to maybe display the game being played/processed by the PS3.
Sounds kinda weird, though -- Many PSN g...

I wish people that had no F'ing clue what they're talking about would stop spouting off numbers, pretending they have the smallest *iota* of what the hell they mean.
*Properly* done games will look nearly IDENTICAL ON BOTH CONSOLES.
Ports *not* done properly don't run like ass because the PS3 is any less powerful - they run like ass because developers are too lazy/poor/time-constrained to properly recode a game originally designed for a TRIPLE-CORE CPU with Unified M...
...but it doesn't surprise me the PS3's port has performance issues -- this is simply Capcom trying to milk as much dough from the game as possible.
It was programmed *for* the 360.
They ported it to PC, and it had issues (at least, at first).
They *then* port it to PS3 with apparently little-to-no optimizations.
Again, it's not surprising the game doesn't fare well.
It's not a reflection on the PS3's gaming ability, b...
..the demo for the PSP is up at the Playstation store.
It took me a minute to figure it out -- You have to install the Playstation downloader to use the links to install the demo to your PSP.
I think it's 164MB big. I played a bit of it, pretty nice, the controls are very similar to the PS2.
Slows way down when accessing from memory stick, though, but I am not using the fastest one out there.
I also downloaded and installed Patapon ...

Frankly, I don't give two sh*ts for Home, big freakin' deal. I'm not "hanging out" at my buddie's house looking at his epeen..err, trophy collection.

I do watch movies on PS3.

I wouldn't hold your breath for 60fps/1080P.
I don't care how fast Cell is, the graphics chip inside the PS3 and Xbox 360 can't handle true 1080P / 60FPS with any large amount of detail.
You can have 10 Cell chips in the PS3, but it's still limited by the graphics chip horsepower when it comes to displaying visuals.
Much more important than large numbers (1080P ZOMG!@*(!!) is artistic direction and design: you master these, your game looks awesome.
