1) A console design can do 1080p, 60 fps on any game.

2) When such a machine costs are low enough for the mass market to accept.

3) When the product lifecycle of the previous generation has peaked.

So let's take a look how we're doing...

1) Such a machine exists, it's called a PC. The technology is available. No point asking it to do more than 1080p unless TVs get suddenly higher resolution.

2) A PC which can do 1080p, 60fps, ...

Unfortunatly, if the DLC wasn't free on Dragon's Age, also by Bioware, then it's unlikely to be free on Mass Effect 2 (unless they include it in the package like before, with a download code).

I wonder if they're also going to release an editor and mod tools for the pc, again like DA:Origins?

Good.

1) It won't happen, at least not this parliament because of a lack of time and more pressing priorities. The next parliament will likely be a different party in power with different priorities.

2) It's a bad law that's unenforceable. The people who are due to enforce it (the ISPs) don't want to as it risks their client base.

3) The second anyone took the law to the European courts, it would get struck down under the ECHR for breach of privacy. Not allowed to spy o...

Do people ever buy PC games used these days?

I've never seen them in any pre-owned bins in stores. I thought second hand games were limited to consoles?

Agree entirely.

I think at launch it was one of, if not the most expensive PC game released. The supermarkets who had heavily discounted copies of MW2 only tended to discount PS3/Xbox versions, meaning for the first time I can remember, a console version of a game cost less to buy new than a PC version of the game.

Plus the PC version offered little above what the console versions had.

The Guild 2, by JoWood. Buggy as hell.

But got to agree with Empire : Total War, though it's getting better.

They're expensive, no question. But overpriced depends on what you're after.

A Ferrari is really expensive, maybe even overpriced... but do I still want one? Hell yes. There are cheaper performance cars out there that cost a lot less, but I still want one. It adds a certain cache. If I see someone with an alienware pc or laptop, I know they're into gaming.

I have an Alienware laptop for gaming (since a desktop is not a viable proposition in my situation) and I l...

I notice no one is complaining about the female/female sex scene that's possible in game?

Running a PC set up on the PS4 would be the best thing to happen to PC gaming in a long time. A GT300 (or 2, in sli mode) and a core i9 would basically mean a PS4 game is a PC game on a blu-ray disc.

Yes, by the time any PS4 is released then the technology would be 'old' by pc standards but that also means it would be cheap(er) than it is currently. You don't expect Sony to go to market with a PS4 that costs over $1200 in components alone? In 3 years time, that cost would have...

I kind of hope that what happened with Morrigan is what the sequel is going to be about. Will probably have to wait about 2 years at least to find out. Great game though. 80 hours first play through, second time around probably closer to 65.

The graphics remind me of GTA:Vice City...

So I'm going to wait for the M 17+ version of Bus Sim.

j/k

Your guess was right, mine was wrong. It's more paid for DLC. 400 points. 'Return to Ostagar'

Yeah, there was a new pc patch 1.01b out only a few days ago, nothing special there.

Too new to be a new area/companion for dlc. I agree with the above, not likely to be new graphics, price drop or co-op.

My best guess, either new items, new skills/spells or new achievements?

I found 'normal' level to be just about perfect. One or two fights where I got mobbed where it got messy, but usually my team of 2 mages, 1 fighter (with shield) and 1 dual wielding rogue can handle most anything.

Reverants are a pain sometimes but the high dragon fight was fun (the optional mountain top one). My tactics tend to involve going after the mages and archers first with magic, getting the fighter/rogue going after the lower level fighters before all going after the y...

It's not really a bug I think, just the way the game processes a fight sequence.

If you're in range of an attack and an ogre attacks you, the computer rolls the imaginary dice to see if the attack lands. It's at this point you're hit, regardless of what you do during the time it takes the (slow) ogre to do the 'attack' animation, even if in that time you've run the other side of the screen. In that sense, it's not an action/reaction based combat sim, but based on dice rolls. T...

It's usually very subjective, but I can't include E:TW. It was seriously buggy when it was released, the AI was terrible too. Shame, could have been so much better. My personal top 10 in no particular order,

- Sim City 2k (Great, pre-EA Maxis game)
- Civilization 4 (How can you not include the best series in PC history?)
- Half Life 2 (They got this right on the list at least)
- Crysis Warhead (Like Crysis, only better gameplay, still unbeaten graphics nearly...

1) Sort of surprised MS(NBC) would lay into MS to that extent.

2) They negate to mention that perhaps the dis-interest in GFW may have something to do with the rise and rise of Steam over the past few years?

3) I'm not a great fan of Apple or Linux (being a PC gamer) but if either of these two made a stab at being attractive to gamers then this would force MS to up their game. They were right in the article, MS is the dominant OS for gaming because of a nigh on tota...

Hate to bring bad news, but looking at the minimum specs on the DA website, an 8400 GS isn't going to cut it. It's not as powerful as a 7600 GT (which is the minimum card they say).

Shame, the rest of the pc sounds perfectly adequate. A $50 graphics card would be all you need.
