the initial release was too early, i think the main problem that it had was that it lacked content. it didnt really give players a direction to go, or a way to get places that they wanted to go.
it had some good ideas but lacked polish, im going to try it again later when theyve spent more time on the game
obviously, software doesnt affect select consoles, software effects every console exactly the same, its very unlikely that a new firmware causes a few ps3s to overheat

you do realize that the only way a gag order holds is if there is sufficient evidence that what is being said is false, right?
so either sony gagged them because they were wrong or rockstar took it down themselves, for whatever reason
also, when its only happening on certain hardware you can be positive that its not the software - it has to be something unique to a console or happen to all similar consoles.
they said that it was only two types of phat ps3s, well its either all phat ps3s (as the only difference is HD size) or none of them if its software thats running on all of them
if the next nintendo console (cafe) doesnt require the use of some elaborate control mechanism than its going to give life to the current gen of consoles also.
while the specs that we have of the cafe may have more graphical power than either x360 or ps3, its not so much that its going to stop 3rd parties from making ports of their cafe games for ps3 or 360.
so if cafe takes off and does well its likely that neither the ps3 or xbox will suffer much if at all ...

btw, sony said a few weeks ago that they had sold 50 million ps3s
infamous has sold about 2.5 million copies, little big planet has sold something like 5 million (ps3 version). with 77 million people that leaves a lot of people who havnt bought these games (dont know about the rest, they didnt have retail releases and sony doesnt release sales statistics)

in the US we only got a psn version of the first one :( hopefully we can get an actual retail release this time

im not buying one because there arent any games i want for it, the ds and psp were rpg powerhouses, i hope the 3ds and ngp continue with this
i buy consoles because of the games they can offer me, i dont care about nintendo, i dont even like most of their franchises, but with the ds they had some pretty good third party support and i got to play lots of good games

the rumored project cafe hardware is pretty lame. it may be 'more powerful' than xbox or ps3, but i guarantee that the cell will put out more processing power.
the rumored cafe hardware isnt a game changer, if its successful with 3rd parties sony and microsoft will also benefit as its likely that anything cafe can do ps3 and x360 will also be able to do.
