thats true, but next gen is 4k and sony already got some experience with the PRO. They know what kind of specs are needed for 4k 60 frames and in two years that will be much easier to achieve.
Of course PC gaming could already be going to 8k, but i think that jump on home consoles is very far away. People are still going to buy 4k so nobody cares about 8k.

The ps4 is a 2013 console and late 2019 ps5 makes sense, because its 6 year after. The pro will be the base model at 249 and the ps5 will be top dog with ryse cpu and vega gpu with 12 to 14 teraflops. That will be average gpu power at late 2019.
A console with 0.5 at f32 and 1 teraflop at fp16 cant handle big 3rd party games. The downgrade would be huge. Its great for cartony games without any kind of AA
