Its an upgrade and not the next gen console. More, price, gamers need to understand price rules and sony wanted to keep the 399 launch tag. Its the perfect price and they still made money on every console sold.
More, its possible to cut the price in 2017 without losing money. Sony was very smart. Because you cant do that with next gen CPU and GPU.

If the scorpio will do 4k in just some games.... Well prepared to be destroyed on media, gamers and so on. They better think again. A console in 2017 that was called on 2016 a beast must do 4k in every game... Im not talking 60 frames, but 4k30 must be the native rez in late 2017.

This sums up the reality. Microsoft needs games, exclusives games that millions want to play. 4k/60 is really cool, but a new fps, tps groundbreaking that You can only play on your console...
I agree. But powerfull console wont be for mass market. But, Games, new games, new Ip, fresh ideas, games that millions of gamers want. That the thing hard to do. You need many studios working and trying to make good games, that dont need 10 gigas patch day one or fill with DLC on disk and microstransactions...

Ulta hd gaming for a price that a average consumir can buy its not yet possible. They need something capable of 12+ teraflops. 4k with ultra settings at 60 frames cant cost even 499 much less 399. Maybe at 799 with a deal with amd about selling at least 50 million consoles to lower the price
The scorpio must have the mobile desktop version of the rysen cpu. They cant put 400/500 cpu. Maybe something like 200 and a gpu at 300
