As has been officially stated many many times, the kinect port is so that you can use one port to connect and power the kinect addon without needing an external power connection.

The question was never whether or not PS3 COULD pump out great graphics, even Lair LOOKED amazing. The 360 fankids were jumping all over ps3 because it was massively hyped but released with a less than fantastic library which hung over its head for a while after launch. If the other 800 are jank, I'll still have 200 amazing cars to use. I have absolutely no problem with that.

If I had a choice, I would rather PD have done 250 premium fully modelled cars than 1000 cars with only 200 premium... but that's just me. I'll take what they give me since I doubt any dev on the planet can touch them for console sim accuracy
