When the PS3 beats the 360 in sales, the PS3 fanboys brag about it. When the 360 beats the PS3 in sales, the PS3 fanboys say they want the PS3 in last place, so Sony works harder.

Delusion at its finest.

I guess they didn't get the memo that RIDE sucked. I wonder if they'll do the same thing for RIDE 2, hold back all the reviews until after the game is already out, so the first suckers buy it before the word is out. Really, how many copies did RIDE manage to sell? 200,000? LOL! I guess the $120 price tag was the real killer, though...

Forza Motorsport 3 - 92
Gran Turismo PSP - 74

Forza 3 scored higher than any game in the GT series has since 2001. The same for Forza 1 and 2. All 3 Forza games have been AAA and they all came out in the time period between 2 GT games.

To be fair, the PSP install base is about 20 million larger than the 360's, Gran Turismo PSP has been out longer, and Gran Turismo is a much more established and popular franchise than Forza Motorsport. It has been around for 12 years after all, compared to Forza's 5 years. Also, GT fans must be dying for their fix, since it's been 5 years since the last real Gran Turismo game.

89 on MetaCritic and dropping. Sorry, not AAA.

So, Uncharted 2 sold 537,000 units in 18 days in the October NPD.

Mass Effect 2 sold 700,000 in 6 days in the January NPD. So ME2 sold far more than Uncharted 2 did, in only a third of the time. And Uncharted 2 was by far the most hyped game of last year, and is an action/adventure/shooter game. ME2 is an RPG, so it is bound to have lower sales.

It just goes to show how poorly PS3 games perform in sales.

The 360 has a 3 year warranty for the RROD, so very few people will be buying a console multiple times. If we count out some sales for the RROD, then we should also count out PS3 sales for people buying it only for a Blu-Ray player. It might not happen much today anymore (just like the RROD is rare today in new models), but when there were few cheaper alternatives, I'm sure a lot of people bought the PS3 only for that purpose.

The 360 outsold the PS3 for 12 months straight after its price drop to $199. The PS3 only outsold the 360 for 2 months after its price drop to $299 and complete remodeling, with the 360 beating it in November 2009 sales.

Well, considering GTA IV is the highest rated game of this generation, and sold nearly 14 million copies, I'd say A LOT of people would be excited about this.

This article is about sales. So I assume it is safe to talk about sales here.

Uncharted 2 is in the most popular and best selling genres a game can be in. Action/Adventure, Shooter. It was also the PS3's most hyped game, and the highest reviewed game of 2009.

Forza 3 is a racing simulator.

If Uncharted 2 was on the 360, it probably would have done 4 million by now.

And Left 4 Dead 2 sold 2.9 million units in 2009 alone, and released a month after Uncharted 2. So the PS3's biggest game of the year can't even outsell what PS3 fanboys call a $60 expansion. Pretty pathetic.

Well, to be fair, the PS3 version of Double Agent did come out 6 months after the 360 version, because the PS3 hadn't even launched yet when the 360 version was released. So you can't expect very good sales there. Most people probably bought the PS2/Xbox versions.

Anyway though, it's pretty clear that this game is never going to come to the PS3. You can tell when a port is in the future, and they just can't talk about it. They'll avoid questions and never flat out say that it is ...

No, it's because at the bottom of the review, it says "Review relevant to PC". There is no mention of the 360. So the review was only added to the PC version on MetaCritic. You'll notice with any multiplatform game, they'll only review the PC version. There was no PC version of Uncharted 2, so they had to review the PS3 version.

Well, Uncharted 2 has 104 reviews. I'm sure this won't be Mass Effect 2's last review. Who knows, it could go back up to 96. And if one review from an obscure website that gives a game a bad review just to get hits makes one game worse than another, then I'll be damned.

5867d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

Oh no! A 95 on MetaCritic! That would be the end for Mass Effect 2! Cause everyone knows 96 means it's an incredible game, but 95 means it's a steaming pile of ****. That 1 point makes all the difference.

"1. Forced to send their craptastic consoles every 2-3 months due to RROD. When they get sick and tired, they just buy a new console (thereby artificially inflating the installed 360 "user base") which in turn, creates a new, vicious cycle."

I believe I am one that should know a lot about the RROD, considering I've gotten it with 3 different consoles, but the shortest time I ever had a console before it croaked was 9 months. And I never had to purchase a new c...
