I didn't know any mode in recent CoD's took talent...especially MW3.

If they made this game in 3rd person and took out the support actions/ respawn i would legit be interested as a SOCOM fan. Too bad :(
The sad thing is, is that SONY only greenlights projects that are guaranteed to be financial losers and cost them even more money. Which is why they're pretty much bankrupt.

When today's online multiplayer shooters are all FPS's and just don't cut it...That's when we need a SOCOM HD Collection.
When Sony and Zipper butchered the franchise, that's when we need an HD remake. Games back then focused more on gameplay, and less on grahpics.
I was never fond of Prototype...Mainly because I was sick as hell when playing it and being sick just made me pissed off at it for some reason.
1 and 2 were amazing. I did enjoy 3 and CA...But we as SOCOM fans were partly responsible for the downfall, beginning with 3/CA because we all said and thought "How cool would it be if we had vehicles?" That's all I heard towards the end of SOCOM 2 (before S3 was announced).
SOCOM 3 could have been perfect if they did a better job of tweaking gameplay elements (like the continuous rounds resulting in draw upon draw)
An HD remake would certainly ...

Well considering it was the first ever online console shooter, it deserves some respect.
I still play it to this day because every shooter out there is 1 in the same, and they're all FPS's that require to tactics, teamwork, or skill.
This generation of shooters has made me retire from gaming in the future.
I can think of about a bajillion reasons not to.

Anyone who thinks CoD is a good online shooter (outside of COD 4) needs a reality check. The basis of CoD multiplayer is "hey! I'm gonna run around and not use any tactics at all because honestly who cares? I'll just die and respawn in 2 seconds and do it all again".

The games on the PS2 still kick the crap out of CoD. There was a reason its multiplayer was so addictive.
Even a SOCOM HD would good. FPS's are lame as hell now.
Wrong...older games are better because they focused on gameplay, rather than graphics. Just because a $10 game looks better than any game from the 90's doesn't mean it more fun. Banjo Kazooie is still one of my favorite games ever.
And games like SOCOM 2 are so much better than online shooters today and nostalgia has nothing to do with it because I still play it...8 years later. It plays better and used so many features that games today have yet to implement.
