Yes, Microsoft needed to retain the brand familiy of the Xbox One, so Scorpio would have always been Xbox One something no matter what. The issue is that X and S can sound similar when saying the name. But is people really that stupid? You see the XBOS and XBOX on shelves, and is there no way they can figure out they are two versions, and that each one of them offers different features and specs?
IMO, casual people will go for the S anyways, because of the price, and people...
Yeah, the problem most of the time, is not that a game is announced too early, but that people are very impatient and want things immediately. Of course there are exceptions like Final Fantasy Versus XIII. No game has to be announced 10 years before release.
I think is nice to know that a game is being made.
For me the problem of announcing early, is that a lot of things change in production, and the final result is not close to what they originally anno...
I am not sure about the pikmin-like gameplay. I loved the combat mechanics of the first one, and I know that I might be in the minority, but since I didn't like pikmin too much, I am not very sure about this game's combat yet.
What??! Barely any exclusives?. OK, let's say it's true (which is not, by a long shot), how many exclusives do Microsoft have? How many exclusive have Microsoft released this year alone? The Switch is 3 months old, and it already has more exclusives than Xbox One in this year. Microsoft only does software updates.
Quit spitting BS! Just go to a release calendar and count how many games aree excluisve to PS4 vs Xbox One.
"Stuff like a new Tales Of title, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, or a new Mana title, or BG&E2, amongst many other possibilities."
Yeah, that´s the stuff I want for the Switch, and for it to have the variety the 3DS has. That's the best way to go for the Switch. It's just that Nintendo might be so focused on it to be a home console, that might do deals with third parties that won't benefit the console at all. Nintendo will obvously make great games, bu...
The 3DS has a lot of support from third parties, but of course they are not making Assassin's Creed games, nor Call of Duty. They are making games to take advantage of 3DS specs and features, and Nintendo is not trying to cram a full Call of Duty on the 3DS. The problem is, Nintendo will want to cram a Call of Duty on the Switch, even if it looks like a PS2 game. That is a huge mistake. Nintendo should focus on games that are possible on the Switch and will benefit from it. Just look at D...
Nintendo needs to get the support that PS Vita had in terms of JRPGS (and Japanese games in general), and needs to get the third party support that the 3DS has (so they need to kill the 3DS). IMO, focusing on home console games is a mistake, because there is no way the Switch will be able to run any (most) of them. Nintendo says the Switch it's a home console ONLY because they don't want to kill the 3DS, but they must do it!
Of course it´s the end of unlockables. Publishers now want to charge a lot of money to get to change the color of your character! Why give something for free right?
Microsoft can release a console more powerful than our imagination, but if theey don't release games, it won't matter at all. The problem with XBOX has always been GAMES. People wouldn't care if the Xbox One is not as powerful as PS4, if it was Microsoft making games like Horizon, Gravity Rush, Nier, etc. Microsoft NEEDS those kind of games.
Nintendo relies on their franchises all the time, however, they have more than 20 franchises. Microsoft only has like 3 a...
It did, but it didn't. It broke the 3D Zelda cycle that OOT started, but did a lot of things that the original Zelda and 2D games did. Nintendo has a new winning formula, that I wish they polish with the next game. Having an open world like BOTW is great for the series, but they need to do more with the story, and gameplay.
Nintendo wanted to break the dungeoun convention, but they went to the extreme. They need to find a middle ground. They can improve the weapon syst...
So by your logic, Sony should still be selling PS2, right?
Now that the PS Vita is dead (dying?), I wish all developers move to the Switch. Also, Nintendo should quit making 3DS games and focus on the Switch, too. 3DS games with better graphics work perfectly for the Switch. So those are the types of games that need the Switch: PS Vita games and 3DS, as well as normal meant-for-consoles-games.
It´s not about practicality, it is about development resources. Nintendo should be focusing 100% on the Switch.
Next year?! Really?!! Just think about it. They still have to release God of War, The Last of Us Part II, Final Fantasy VII Remake (Square Enix won't do FFXV mistake again), Kingdom Hearts 3, and surely many unanounced games, yet. Sony still has much more time to release the next PS. They will probably wait until PS4 reached 100 million to announce it, which could happen 2 or 3 years from now.
I don't know if it's milking, but I think it is a great idea to do those crossovers, and I wish more companies did that.
What would be the point of a Switch Mini? If Nintendo replaces the 3DS, it will be with the Switch. They will join all their teams to focus on the Siwtch, and make games that would be on a portable console, too.
Why would Nintendo release a 3DS successor, only to have two portable consoles on the market? Yes, the Switch is being marketed as a home console first, but it has a portable aspect, and there is no need for another.
The Switch will have both ho...
Your comment reads like trolling, but I completely agree with it. Nintendo is so far behind, it's starting to get worrisome. IMO, the first two steps to begin making Nintendo better are to change CEO for a younger guy, that knows and understand modern tendecies in the industry, and get rid of the clown Reggie (he, by himself, has destroyed NOA). With those steps, Nintendo is going to get much better.
Just look at how Square Enix improved so much after they got rid of W...
Those people don't take care of their stufff. Simple as that. Is like the Dualshock 4 problems. I have had mine since launch and it looks and feels like new. Same with my PS Vita. All those things happen when they don't taker care of stuff.
You know, they only thing that I can think of that makes sense about link not being able to roll, is that developers completely forgot about it. There is no reason whatsoever to not have link roll like every other 3D Zelda. They could have put the roll behind the back of the enemy animation, too. I really don't understand why they left it out!
It doesn't matter if they are selling you a space rocket if there are no games that will use that power. Microsoft has very few first party exclusives, and third party games will be also on PS4, and even fewer will take advantage of the Xbox One.
Yes, as a device and device only, it is very worthy, but since you can't use it for anything else, it doesn't matter how powerful it is for its price.
