I just used slight tilts and jolts and found the control to be very useable.

There was a controller called the turbo touch where the d-pad was replaced with a touch pad.
I honestly wish they made it an option to keep the original overhead perspective of the PC game on the consoles. Some of the finishing moves are hard to see cuz the camera angle isn't position correctly.
