Move i am sure was in development before the wii but the wii popularise motion gaming to a new level.
I really do think that the wii forced both MS and Sony to look serious at motion gaming and basically hurried up the development of both the move and Kinetic. In the case of Kinetic. MS just bought the tech.

Sony did shipped more than 2.5 million PS move. You can't really say that Sony tried to limit stock.
The other difference is Move was not marketed anywhere near the level MS have for Kinetic so there really is no reason yet for Sony to stuff the retail channels.

Think about all the social websites and it casual game apps like mind craft and farmville etc etc.
it dosen't have buttons. Because it dosn't have buttons it goes against the progress of core gaming.
Think about this for a second. Since the early days of gaming the input devices were mearly a single button or a joystick. Every generation after that we have seen more and more buttons added to controllers for example from the Atari to NES to SNES to PS1 etc.
As new genera and type of games evolve and become more soficicated, so do the control inputs...
can only mean big things.
