Expected it as Sony did it with PS2 for PS1.Its a nice feature to have but in reality once you go next gen you don't want to go back. I haven't played any of my PS2 or PS1 games since i got my PS3 and i think most PS3 owners are on the same boat as me. I guess Sony carried out a survey of PS3 owners and found out that BC is hardly used. I personally would have perfered to buy a cheaper PS3 without BC but I am not complaining though.

Yes but it would have been sucide for Nitendo. I believe Nitendo knew that there was a huge casual market out there with the success of the DS so they took a big gamble by creating a console that will focus entirely on the casual market and thus not competing directly with the PS3 and x360.

The Japanese market is huge despite what others say and its still a long way to go but i agree that once MGS and especially FF drops it will be all PS3 from then on. This is a great, great start but i really do hope they keep it up before there big games.
