They were remasters but they had good reasons to be so. TLOU and GTA 5 were themselves already "next gen-ish" when they came out being they were at the dead end of last gen so remastering them on more powerful systems just made sense. It gave early adopters of 8th gen consoles the definitive experience of something familiar to pick up and play.
I think maybe if they remastered oblivion or Morrowind it would make more sense

Actually blu ray discs are faster than DVD and cds naturally because of the technology they use and it's 1x speed specifications. All three optical media have different 1x speed for example a dvd has a 1x speed of 1mbps while a blu ray has a 1x speed of 36mpbs.
Damn yall are ungrateful. As a PC gamer we have had current gen graphics since like 2011 and the beginning of what you see as next gen quality effects since Crysis. Yet back then the graphics card ALONE to play them was more expensive than both xbone and ps4 combined and were LUCKY to hit 1080p/60fps constant. now you have all of that and a bag of chips in one package for only $300-$400 and thats not enough? Ps4 version seems to be running at 30 fps. Even my old gtx 570 ran this at 60fps lol
