The numbers aren't that important! Did the xbox sell that many because people were buying to replace their broken ones. Or, do they not count those number?
If it were a drug.. Shouldn't people be able to create whatever the $#@! kind of game they want to anyway, provided it has the correct content rating. I'd like to see a game where people can trip on lsd, run around sniping people through walls, and admire trees and scenery. Of course it would have an M rating :] BTW they could have called nectar a drug or a suppliment and it would still fit.
When Killzone 2 comes out the graphics will probably blow everything else out of the water(even most pc games) There is video of a killzone2 developer playing kz2 live on youtube and in it's early stages it looked just stunning.

This game looks pretty awesome. Sony = King of consumer electronics! psp came out 3 years ago and is still one of the coolest gadgets. I may have to purchase one some day.
PSP has some really good games and has been selling pretty well for quite a while now. It even outsold Nintendo DS in Japan a couple of times. Who are these people that write these stupid articles and what is their agenda? There are still people writing articles about how blueray won but it didn't win YET! Give me a F'in break.

Well if the average iq is around 100 in my country(us). Assuming that IQ is a decent way to determine intelligence. Ya, a lot of people are stupid and easily fall for all video game marketing tactics. If you are smart however, you should be happy you have an advantage.

either way, there is no way gearz2 is going to make me run out and buy a xbox, even if they cost $150 by then. BUT, that's just me and we'll see how the market is by then.
A lot of you said you wouldn't buy EA games because you dont like what they're doing to the industry. I understand, but, they still have millions of average consumers to market their products to that know nothing of their shady tactics? how could that change?
If all the above posts are any indication, i think people are getting tired of these over competitive (seemingly)shady tactics.
-I dont think direct competition is the only thing that insures quality games, however it definately seems to make some companies step their game up. However, some companies dont know how to handle the pressure of direct competition and their creativity is stiffled.

I was at bestbuy today. The cheapest blueray was $25-30 dollars. I am a big spender and i still think that is a BIG RIP OFF(for one disc). If they got the price down to $14-16 dollars they would sell millions more bluerays and probably make more money, i think. The most expensive single movie should be no more than $20 dollars, any more just scares most people away.
Japanese are in love with the wii. ps3 is still kind of expensive for mass market. However, i think ps3 might see a price drop in japan with MGS4, and from there on it may dominate. Blueray WILL make a huge difference, being the only real HD format. However, I went to bestbuy today and the cheapest blueray was $25. I am a big spender and even I think that is too much, what are they thinking. If they want blueray to take off they better make it more affordable.
lol toughname that was a funny comment. I think ea is a too competitive. When companies get greedy and competitive they often make mistakes though. As that data above shows. There is a difference between trying to advance and trying to dominate.
I love insomniac and I hope they help others create their visions fully. I think insomniac has a lot of good, creative, nongreedy people on their team. a lot of people could learn from them i think(ea)... I think Insomniac's team knows how to have fun and make great games. They dont have to worry about money because it is guaranteed to flow to them.
I didn't read the article. But anyone who blames video games for societies problems is either A) Stupid B) Ignorant C) Stupid and ignorant, or D) Has a hidden agenda and is saying this BS for their own personal gain, etc.
