Well that's the thing. AR and VR are two completely separate things. VR takes you to magical places, while AR brings magic into your world. I think both technologies hold tremendous potential and can thrive side by side. There will be amazing titles for both.
Pessimistic much? Go back to reading about how many pixels 4k tvs have, because that's so impressive and fresh :P
What da fuq... How freaking terrifying! Walking around your own home, and then seeing a stranger poke his head from around a corner. Hell, this is AR... There's no limits. Person, ghost, zombie, demon. It can even be like Paranormal Activity, and be invisible, leaving AR footprints and throwing AR pots and pans. There's no limit in the number of ways developers can give us heart attacks.
Sounds like a gimmick. No one is going to talk around while looking like a helicopter pilot.
Just kidding! How exciting is all this new technology. VR is making a huge comeback, wowing everyone who tries it. And now AR is making a huge splash. And with Microsoft and Magic Leap fighting to become the staple of AR, the tech will undoubtedly make great progress rapidly. Very exciting stuff.
Wow... Then tailer came out awhile ago, so I was sure that we'd see it come out sometime in 2015.
Why the hell isn't Sly Cooper on the list?!
Do you also refuse to watch movies if they contain letterbox borders? Given The Orders atmosphere and cinematic visuals, i think the borders fit perfectly for this title.
VR and AR can simultaneously exist and prosper in the marketplace. You're right that there are gameplay and experiences VR can offer that cannot be attained using an AR headset, but I believe AR can deliver equally rewarding experiences that VR cannot as well. I think both technologies will make a huge impact on how we live are day-to-day lives.
Go ahead and let the tears roll, because Sony has clearly stated that the blog was wrong. The deal does not work with pre-orders.
Murder, virtual sex, drugs, violence, vehicular manslaughter... all in your life with no barriers like a controller or television. You sick SOB...
Depends on the length of the campaign. If these are all the trophies then it'll be an easy platinum indeed. A gold trophy for beating the game on any difficulty? Too easy.
Can't see enemies!? Yikes.
Anyone have any ideas on what Countdown Mode and Invisible mode are?
I'm playing the first Danganronpa (courtesy of Sony's 20th Anniversary sale) right now, and I'm loving it. I've been very interested in Murasaki Baby since I first saw a trailer. I may just go ahead and pull the trigger and buy it soon.
Steins gate
Resident evil revelations 2
Hyper light drifter
Grim fandango
Banner saga
Next time can you please put "satire" in the title so I'm not annoyed when I click on it. Thanks.
Hopefully we'll see something new and an official release window at CES.
Eye tracking is pretty neat, but obviously control input is much more crucial. Myo looks interesting, but it suffers from a couple of things... No hand tracking and the lack of haptic feedback. Everyone says that the first thing a new VR users does is to try and look at his or her hands. This can possibly be solved using Leap or something similar to Kinect. However, even with the ability to see a 3d representation or your hands in a virtual space, the next obstacle that can potentially break ...
Oculus VR has acquired Nimble VR, and 13th Lab as of December 2014. It's going to take time to expand both the Rift and the software to include the new technologies that these two companies bring to the table. I'm as anxious for the Rift as everyone else, but Oculus has to knock it out of the park day one if it wants the masses to accept it as a viable game changer.
@Kingthrash360 The game is discounted by almost $20. Preorder dlc's i couldn't care less, but if a preorder is saving me money Im all over it.
