I haven't play a Tomb Raider game since PSX days I finish TR 1 through 4 and never play one again on PS2 & later, so I must admit I am a little curious on how this is going to unfold :)
I have a gr8 time with the old TR games I still have nightmares from back then when I was playing TR3 it was and it still is one of the hardest games I have ever play but this hardness was what makes the whole experience so rewarding.

Wii is very cheap man u can buy one new for 110-120 euro or a used one in good condition for 70-80, that's nothing I suggest u to buy one that's what I did recently to play the super exclusives from operation rainfall project (Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Pandoras Tower) & some others like Monster Hunter Tri & the remake & prequel of Resident Evil 1 and now I have one more amazing game to w8 for ^__^ so I did right buying one.

After I make this small addition to my roster everything looks much better ^__^ imo every hardcore JRPG fan out there must get one Wii u cant miss games like Xenoblade/The Last Story & others, Wii doesn't have many good games but u can find some of triple-A quality and those few games r more than enough reason to own one.
Why some ppl like the one who write this article struggle to understand what a hardcore game is? is it really so hard to get it? here a simple explanation, Hardcore is:
1st a game that dont keep your hand & show u the way from start to finish
2nd a game that need a skilled & experienced player to grasp it's gameplay and unlock all the secrets this has to offer

When I say 20 I mean from both PS1 & PS2 together not from each console, and who the fck play JRPG on iphone/ipad that's ridiculous those games need countless hours to finish, is it fun to spent so many hours with your face stuck 10cm into a screen? I can say the same for handhelds I cant enjoy JRPG on such small screens those games for me must be played in big screens while u sitting at least 3 meters away from your HD TV comfortably in your couch/bed else it's just not enjoyable...
This generation was the worst for JRPG fans as long we talk for home consoles from 1996 to 2006 we have PS1 & PS2 and countless of AAA titles, I can make a list with 20 TOP JRPG games from PS1 & PS2 with ease, try to do that for PS3, xbox or Wii I cant even think 5.. 2 or 3 is the most I can think of and those consoles r in the market for the past 6-7 years and that's tragic for the JRPG genre in general, that's all this generation have to offer for JRPG fans.

As a hardcore JRPG & Horror Surviving gamer I can say after a lot of research that Wii have no more than 10 games worth playing.

GreenRanger disagree with u SONY & Nintendo is 2 completely different fruits, the classic Mario/Zelda/Metroid triangle of Ninti have nothing to do with Uncharted/MGS/GoW/InFamous/Kil lzone/Resistance/Demon's Souls/Heavy Rain/Yakuza & many other PS only games.
It's obvious that SONY concentrate 80%+ on hardcore gamers with more mature games & Ninti 80%+ on casual & little kids games, and that's obvious from the console design the PS3 is the stronges...
Nice article agree with everything & I want to add 1 more my self, the absence of Japanese voice over on many JRPG I hope someday the dual audio option will be something standard on those kind of games that way I wont skip a lot of them because some companies prefer to save some bucks and not release a complete package.

The creator of Xenogears one of my all time favorite games & TOP 3 JRPG ever imo Tetsuya Takahashi left also from Square & he create with his own studio the best JRPG of this generation, Xenoblade Chronicles, and that shows that u dont need a big studio and a crazy budget to make quality games.
I am very disappointed with SONY because they abandon completely the JRPG scene and it's really a shame because they made some incredible games in the past.
For me surprise will be if they decide to invest once again on this field by announcing a new Legend of Dragoon game, SONY president himself admit they start working on it once and they scrap the project in the end for some unknown reason..

Sagakuchi & Takahashi (Xenoblade) is my 2 all time favorite JRPG creators that's why I buy a Wii to play their new games I play Xenoblade atm after that The Last Story will follow :) but it's a shame when I read that Sagakuchi spent his time making silly games for iPhones... this guy must work on new JRPG creations non stop one after another do u hear me Mr Sagakuchi start working on your next MASTERPIECE already!!!
