I used to play on consoles until discovering PC gaming back in 2010. I haven't touched one since then.

If you're a fan of great story telling in games, this is a MUST!! I was only slightly interested in FFXIV because I had heard about it, but never tried it. Well, I started it in October of last year and couldn't put it down! I went through the entire game, up through to Endgame. I had the best time with it! I'm taking a bit of break now, but will circle ba...

Okay.

It's long been established that this site doubles as a Sony/Playstation fansite, where ANY and EVERYTHING they do is automatically seen as golden, correct, and for the absolute best. Period.

Any statement or article that could possibly be deemed as negative towards Sony/Playstation is instantly shot down, valid or invalid. This also means any statement that could possibly be deemed as positive towards Microsoft is also shot down because they are th...

Should that really surprise you?

Didn't you know that this site has LONG doubled as a Sony/Playstation lovefest site? It's been that way for many, many years. Anything that could possibly be construed as positive in favor of Microsoft is instatntly and immediately followed by at least a dozen or so articles in opposition.

Nothing new really.

I can almost gurantee that if it had been Sony that was purchasing Activision-Blizzard, ...

70%? You think Xbox and PC only account for 30% of Bethesda's sales? I think you've grossly underestimated how popular Bethesda's games are on Steam and Xbox.

This game was mainly smoke and mirrors...and they were FULLY AWARE of it! Take for instance the way they HEAVILY promoted the ability to customize genitals. This was meant to give us the impression that the character creator was extensive and innovative, when in reality it was FAR from either of these things!

For me, this represents the game in it's entirety.

A grand illusion.

I'm VERY EXCITED for this game! I'd much rather have it delayed then release in an unfinished state to meet a set date.

It's a 7.5 or 8 to YOU. Reviews are based on different opinions. Your score can hardly be considered universal or the idea that people criticizing this game and it's developer are doing so only as part of a trend. What was promised, hyped, and aggressively marketed doesn't come close to what was delivered, as far as some of us are concerned, even without the performance issues.

RPG?

Not really.

NO.

Trying to shift the blame to gamers for expecting this game to live up to the hype CDPR created AND fueled with it's ads, Night City Wire shorts, claims of choices having an impact, life paths changing each playthrough, crowded and bustling streets, it's ultimately useless character customization, busted AI, and changing the marketing from RPG to Action Adventure on the sly, not to mention it's performance issues they INTENTIONALLY mislead people about? ...

The article states that you won't see "City Of Heroes" rise from the ashes anytime soon, if ever and that there AREN'T any private servers.

Really?

Obviously this person hasn't done their homework or any research on the subject in a few years.

Are you kidding?

It's very similar to the debate over pve vs pvp. MANY pvp fans feel pve people SHOULD pvp because it's what THEY enjoy, regardless of how a pve person feels. Another person commented that "if I was being honest" I'd conform to the idea that Cyberpunk is best played in first person, which to me is nonsense and completely disregards the fact that I do not enjoy first person at all. Your comment on how first person relates to how we exper...

Of course those very same people also don't seem to understand that an individual person is capable of deciding for themselves what best suits them, instead of going along with what others think is best for them. What constitutes immersion is completely subjective, no matter what those people have been saying for years.

Also, it is NOT how we experience the real world.

We have peripheral vision and far more expansive perception of depth than what is...

@ClayRules2012

I have have only ever played one first person game in all the years I've gamed, Bioshock. I really didn't enjoy the style of gameplay but it was a very engaging story. There was no need for a character creator. Jack wasn't a person you created, he was predetermined. Still, playing as a visible Jack would have made the experience that much better for me.

There would be no point for me to buy Cyberpunk. While I was extremely exit...

@Nacho_Z
"and if they're being honest?"

You're assuming I'm actually buying the game.

At this point, I've accepted the fact that it's simply not a game for me. I'm a huge rpg fan but it isn't something I'm willing to concede. Every game isn't for every person, even an rpg for one who mainly plays role playing games. The first person viewpoint completely takes me out of the game and gives me the feel...

@King_Noctis

This studio certainly had both the time and the money to have implemented both perspectives. Their are plenty of people out here who are partial to one perspective over the other, which is why the player should have the option to choose themselves instead of forcing first person and claiming that it's more immersive. That is strictly an opinion, not a fact.

Giving perspective customers the most options is always the best call. They've...

Those games you listed are not RPG's that feature character creation from scratch. They don't require customization when the character is mainly predetermined. For many of us, part of the fun in an rpg is actually seeing the character we spent time creating and experiencing the world with them, like digital action figures in a sense. This doesn't work well when you can only see what's in front of you.

This game will feature one of the most extensive characte...

I feel the same way. I'll probably still buy Cyberpunk 2077, but it won't be the same. Maybe someone will mod in a third person perspective when they release modding tools? We'll see. The best bet for all of these games is to have both perspectives. Giving the player the option to choose is always the best call.

Some people love the 1st person perspective, good for them. As for me? Playing as a walking camera completely defeats the purpose of an RPG. If you can't see the character, why bother to have any sort of appearance customization?

By now, the story of Bioware has devolved into a bad comedy. I never would have believed that both Bioware and Bethesda would fall so far from grace. How will either of them regain their reputations? That may not even be possible now.

You should always play whatever you like. Personally, I've always thought most people play what they prefer to look at.
