See, people flamed me out when I said the hype was getting far to great and that fans should pull it back. That is why the score is a little underwhelming, because the God damn hype, people were offensively evangelizing this game claiming it to be better than everything else, regardless of genre.
I want to say we will see how the game is in the hands of players, but their opinions can be just as biased. For now, what I get is that it's like fable 3, I has the potential to surpass it predecessors but weird design decisions get in the way.

Review scores for a game this big will defiantly affect it sales. If scores are disappointing, the sales will reflect. People don't want to buy a game knowing it's not good. Not everyone has money to uninformed-idly throw at anything.
I also agree with most of the things on the list. Some of them are just undeniable.

I would say take this with a grain of salt, but clear all the sony enthusiasts have flocked to this article and are getting their jabs in on ms. People say things all the time, especially in the interest of marketing.

Barring the fact that Gt is 5 years older than halo, if you seriously look at the gaming landscape, it's clear racing games are on the decline.

So if I don't care for MGS4's convoluted, non-sensical plot, GOW3's similarity to 2, the list goes on. By you're statement your a ps3 owner not a gamer.
I really don't think people are seeing past they're love for GT5. Gt4 came out in 2005 and this gen has changed dramatically. MGS4 definitely pushed sales for the ps3 in 2008, but I don't think GT5 will have the same effect. The sony base has changed and not nearly as much adopters have as strong as a connection to GT as oppose to the ps2 era. People are likening GT5's sales to that of the halo franchise which I personally don't think GT will match.
This is really sad. Such a legendary franchise reduced to garbage. Ubisoft learn from this, do not make another creed in 2011 this will be its future.
Are people just obtuse? it's not IGN, it's a bunch of writers. They have different opinions. That's the best thing about reading reviews and opinions, they don't all say the same thing, or say what we expect all the time.
