Pre-ordering potentially broken, incomplete games is a bad practice... Unfortunately, we won't know until afterwards.
A port is taking a game and programming it so it works for other operating systems. Sometimes with graphical upgrades, but that's not the main purpose of a port.
A remaster is taking a game and changing it so it looks and plays better for the same or original operating system.
Port? You do know that we are talking about "Remastering," right?
Meh, never mind!
Only major companies are doing this, because they have the notoriety to pull something off with IPs that were extremely well received. And those who disagree with my initial comment don't fully understand how easy and how much cheaper remastering something is compared to creating a new IP.
SR4 was nothing but a full-priced expansion of SR3. It should have been SR3 DLC.
Why not come out with a new IP? Because it's cheaper, easier, and thus safer to slap some new skins on old textures, tweak the controls and interface, and call it "Remastered." Most of which can be done by a 5 to 10 person medium-skilled team in a couple months or so.
It's been a long time since I've pre-ordered something. Heck, I didn't even pre-order Fallout 4 (which I just recently finished).
"Elderscrolls Online It's the only one I haven't played from the series."
Same here, but that's because I don't really care for MMOs. If I ever play it, it will be when it becomes free-to-play.
Preorder bonuses? Yuck! This practice has to go!
It's almost as bad as Season Passes for content you have no idea what you're getting. Not as bad... but almost as bad.
"Affected YouTubers have informed us that Sony has removed the copyright strikes."
That's because Sony realized that they were being called "dirty bastards!"
@Unspoken,
"1070? Why would you waste your money? A 1080 or Titan will be more powerful"
Yes, they will be more powerful. However, when considering "dollars per fps" the 1070 is a better choice and not really a waste of money.
Don't forget the genocide of millions of Native Americans...
"It was either like, go make an entire new game or do Skyrim."
Wow... Uh... DuuUuuh! Go make an entire new game!!!
Since it'll be out a couple years from now, it most likely will look better.
Definitely! Because of "EA," I'll probably wait until several updates and patches come out before I even consider buying it.
What are consoles?
"We don't have to censor ourselves to comfort people's ignorance."
Which is exactly why it's perfectly fine to build a Noah's Ark replica in Kentucky. Creationists view Scientific / Theistic Evolution beliefs as ignorance. If they were concerned about the majority of American's (approximately 60%) irreligious beliefs, the Ark replica would have never been built.
For me? Not really. I get almost all my news, shows, and other entertainment on my monitor.
Even then... More than half of the major *standard* cable networks probably won't be transmitting in 4K. It might take a couple more years and further major improvements to the digital infrastructure before many of them will even consider it.
The only perk to getting it now or soon will be for 4K movies and maybe a couple games on future consoles.
So do I... But I really don't like Origin. So I probably won't be getting it.
